WARNING: The 'analytics' library is not available on this platform (Do I need to worry?)

Hi guys,

I have noticed that the message in my console when building my app:

“WARNING: The ‘analytics’ library is not available on this platform.”

I am running the build 971 and use Flury. i am almost certain that i saw this message on the forum but for the life of me I cannot find it again. I pray for the day when the “search” function in the forum works at it should:( This is the most important function on the forum in my view. I also tried using Google with key word coronalabs forum but still cannot find it. maybe I was just dreaming:)

In any event, does anybody if I need to worry about that message on the terminal?

Thanks a lot

Mo

Can you grab build 972 and give it a try?

Thanks Rob, I will.

Ps: Congrats on the Coronalabs move! It is always nice to see “one of us” with a “staff” logo! [import]uid: 100814 topic_id: 33511 reply_id: 133132[/import]

Is it all analytics that are missing in build 971, or just 3rd party ones?

i.e: How bad would it be to submit to the app store using build 971? I’m not using any extra analytics.

I tried building on 972, but my testflight users can no longer install test builds when using that version of Corona. So that worries me somewhat.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this. [import]uid: 52260 topic_id: 33511 reply_id: 133144[/import]

@doog, what do you mean that people can’t install builds via TestFlightApp with 972?

Hello Rob,

I am still getting the error message with 972:

2012-12-02 15:48:43.642 Corona Simulator[18215:f03] WARNING: The ‘analytics’ provider (flurry) is not available on the simulator
2012-12-02 15:48:43.693 Corona Simulator[18215:f03] WARNING: The ‘analytics’ library is not available on this platform.
@doog: Is is true that you testFlight beta testers cannot load your app? That will be bad since i have to send my last version today!

I may need to come back to 971 since it “seems” to show data on Flury anyway…

Thanks.

I’ve never used Flurry or analytics but has it ever operated from the Simulator? Seems to me it needs to have some device ID and would probably only work on device. I suspect these may be harmless warning messages, but let me ask the team.

Thanks Rob. I went back to 971 to release my app because the potential issue with testflight i did not want take any chance. I think you are right since I still can stuff going on Flury as nothing was wrong.

I’m still curious as to what you mean by you can’t use TFA with 972. Did you get an error message? Were your testers unable to install and run your app?

Hello Rob.

Not sure. Frankly I was scared because I had to sent the app to Apple. When I saw the message above and that 972 was still showing the warning I went back to 971 since I already asked by amazing beta testers to test 5 millions versions yesterday.

I will not have a Mac for a week (that is why I needed to ship yesterday) so I cannot really check right now. I will be curious why TF will not work with 972. Feel free to put a test app on TF and send me an invite and I can check it. While traveling I will have an iPad and iPhone.

Thanks.
