What are the two files Corona creates when building for the appstore?

Why are there two files generated? I made a lot of apps with Corona, but why hasn’t this changed?

Can I use one of these files to upload directly?

As far as I know I still need to add to a Payload folder compress and manually rename it to an IPA.

Did I miss something.

I never bothered to ask and just accepted it, but somehow I am having a bad day today and this just annoyed me.

Hi Juf Jannie

Upload .zip file to Apple store.

Thanks.

Wonder why I always kept doing it the other way…

As far as I can remember back, we’ve always produced both a .app bundle (for installing to device’s via Xcode) and a .zip file for sending to the store via Application Loader.   You’ve only needed a .ipa if you were installing to your device via iTunes or using the original TestFlightApp.

FYI other services like installrapp.com (which I’ve switched to post-TestFlight) also require .ipa files.
