Hello, I just wanted to ask you guys what the best AD Networks are for the Corona SDK.
I want banner and fullscreen ads with a high eCPM that doesn’t pay per installs but per impressions.
Thanks!

High eCPM’s are given on a per install basis. Trying to find a network that will give a high eCPM on a per impression basis isn’t very likely. Some networks might try to lure you into thinking so, and if they do, I find it hard to believe it’ll last.
Personally I’ve found only a few networks that keep their inventory fresh and revenue stable. For me they are (in no particular order), Chartboost (interstitial), Admob (banner/interstitial) and Vungle (video).
Keep in mind that the Open Source Chartboost module for Corona has an issue with iOS at the moment, Android is fine.
More people need to see this. If Ingemar says it, you best listen up.
Ad revenue is, of course, highly dependent on many factors such as app type, traffic, user engagement etc.
I’m largely in agreement with Ingemar.
Experiences will vary, but in my experience Vungle and iAds and AdMob have been the top performers. Chartboost didn’t work well for me (I part company with Ingemar on this one). RevMob used to be great but now, for me at least, has the worst eCPM I have ever experienced. I’m in the process of removing them from my iOS apps. RevMob on Android is a definite no.
YMMV.
Chartboost USED to be crazy good for me, ecpm’s of $69 to $91 for about 2 months. Then, uhh yea (IFDA screwed all that, the module is open source so it hasn’t been updated).
I’m just starting to use iad so I don’t know much about it yet. Admob, yes very good. Applovin’ pretty good too, and revmob = MEH.
I don’t know if applovin is on corona though, was using it in cocos2d-x.
Oh and one more thing, if you are using a “More games” button, apple is going to stick a hot stick in your butt. They are rejecting most apps that have a more games button that “Advertise games that aren’t yours”. basically, that goes for vungle, chartboost, revmob etc. Basically if you use vungle to give free coins for watching a video, that will get you nailed. Even if you don’t, soon as you advertise games that aren’t yours boom you get rejected.
There are a ways around it, but you’ll figure that out as it’s a gray area. I’ve gotten apps through the queue, google your way a solution you’ll see.
We have released a Chartboost plugin that they officially endorse, you can use Chartboost again on iOS. We are also working on an Android version.

I rather pick an Ad sdk that doesn’t rely on 3rd party to develop and charge for it, when I can pick from so many others and get what I need.
Cb isn’t all that great anymore (seems most I know have jumped off) so well use something else. My other apps the ad networks other than cb are doing great (cocos 2dx). Applovin has been killing it for me lately, so I’m looking into that a lot more these days.
Also, apple rejected 3 of my apps that had more games button because of chartboost. Vungle too, because of rewards of hey watch video to get more coins.
Plus, can’t advertise games that aren’t your own. Which is what cb does so you have to think about that too.
It’s possible to create customized More Apps lists in Chartboost with only your own apps.
Personally I’ve never been a fan of rewards, so I’ve never used them in any of my apps.
Exactly, I never envisioned anyone using it any other way.
@Nick, Chartboost endorse our plugin, but if you don’t want to play for a product, that is your choice.
Apple aren’t rejecting apps because of Chartboost, just to state that. They are rejecting apps that are rewarding users for watching ads, which is something that is implemented and done by the developer, not Chartboost.
Thanks
Apple are rejecting because of chartboost that show other games that aren’t mine. Section 225 and 3.10. Same for other ad networks that do the same. I got 3 apps rejected, soon as I shown my own apps it was fine.
Showing m own games, sure that helps. But more money is earned through more games button and direct deals and getting CPI paid
Wait, your saying that Apple are rejecting apps that contain advertisements for other games via ad providers? Isn’t that what every ad network does (more or less)
Or are we specifically talking about the ‘more games’ screen which is a users choice?
I haven’t been following this new Apple policy and am trying to gather info.
Thanks

If Apple would start to reject normal ads, then their own iAds would be subject to an app being rejected and all other ad networks would most likely go out of business. I don’t think this is the case.
What Apple is doing is cracking down on any form of incentivized ads. They’ve always frowned upon this, but haven’t actively done anything about it until now.
Well that is what I assumed, so good!
The point i was making above then, that Chartboost isn’t causing apps to vew rejected, it’s the developers use of them (i.e. offering free coins for watching ads, adding apps that are not theirs to the more apps screen etc) that has caused problems.
My only goal in my posting in this thread was to ensure that anyone reading it does not get misinformed information about Chartboost.
Apple are not rejecting apps that use Chartboost itself, they are rejecting apps that offer incentives for watching ads, or showing apps that are not yours in your more apps screen.
End of point!
I’m just letting you know my experience. Meanwhile someone I know apps went through fine.
Here is what I know works.
Set up vungle. Get button to have fallback so it shows your own games.
Set up more games button, pause cb campaign replace with your own.
Submit, soon as out of review then enable what you want. For example, you have a button says free coins, you basically tie that in so if not vungle then no show button. Never triggers apple. However that’s not gonna stop the retro active rejects which I hear are forthcoming
Gamedev is so fun these days
Submit, soon as out of review then enable what you want.
This kind of deception is appalling .
I’m just passing on what I’ve seen done and how people are getting around it. I decided not to pursue it. I’m just going to figure out a way to play by rules and see how that works out.
The info is there though, confirmed that’s how people are skating it. In the end, you’ll probably get nailed anyway as the retroactive bans start sweeping across.
There’s not much to figure out. Just display ads without any form of incentives and you should be OK.
Another danger of deceiving Apple’s approval process is that if you’re caught, your development account might get revoked and you might even get banned from creating a new one.
Ain’t nobody got time for dat revoked dev accounts. Lord jeezus
