What have you played lately?

If you’re like me, you may not find enough time to play games.  You may instead be spending all of your time working (a day job and/or school) and the rest making and working on your own games.

So, while I play games a little (mostly for research) I rarely dig in and play for fun.  I’m hoping you guys and gals have played something fun recently that I might try.

So, my question to you…  what are the last three mobile and/or desktop games you played:

My answers:

Mobile (Andriod):

  • Chibi Survivor - Weather Lord
  • Magic Tiles 3 (for when I need to relax)
  • Clash of Clans (I cant give it up lol)

Desktop (PC):

  • Overwatch
  • Rust
  • Northgard

Define lately…

I was trying to play Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMix, but that game is nothing short of awful. I’ve not looked at that in months.  In the past few weeks, I was playing an HTML5 game called slither.io. for a little while then my brain started asking, hmmm how can I build a game like that in Corona. They of course have an app version, but the ads every time  you die was way  more annoying that what you had to do on desktop/HTML5.

Mobile (iOS)

Desktop (Mac)

  • Errrm…  Actually its a fair few years since I last played a desktop game.  May well have been Oolite or Torchlight.

I wish I had more time for playing games… but occasionally a bit of worms with the GF is a good window down… Nothing like a RPG in the face

Which worms? Love that game, I think Armageddon is my favorite

“go away”… Worms 2 Armageddon on Xbox (best few $ ever spent) and we do love a death match!

Mobile

  • a quiz game, a few hours per month

Desktop

  • Guild Wars 2
  • Alan Wake

Will play and replay anything from Remedy Entertainment, those guys are brilliant!

Even their old games from early 2000.

No I am not affiliated in any way

I’m hooked on WarFriends but inspiring games are:

  • Zip Zap

  • o k a y ?

  • RayTrace

  • Monument Valley 2

  • Cuzzle

  • Super Sharp

  • klocki

  • Tick Shot

  • Whiteout (Lifeline series)

  • Seasons (DropFlip series)

  • Crisis Line (Lifeline series)

Since getting PS4 VR the very limited time I have to play games without feeling guilty has been dedicated to that, mostly Driveclub which is superb with wheel and pedals.

There are so many games that I would love to play - Civ 6, OOTP Baseball 18, Prison Architect, Kerbal Space Program, but I daren’t even buy them for fear of the damage to my productivity!

I just can’t bring myself to get that one.  I loved the first and played it through twice but ultimately thought it was a bit short.  By all accounts the second, although it looks stunning, is easier and a lot shorter than the first, and when they’re charging a fiver for it…

For those that don’t know, Zip Zap is built with Corona.
