What icons and where to put them ?

Hi,

Am almost ready to submit my app to the App Store but am not sure on all the icons and where they are suppose to be. It is a iPad only app so not concerned with iPhone and iPod.

According to iTunes Connect Developer Guide, I need -

Icon-72.png (72px X 72px)
Icon-Small.png (29px X 29px)
Icon-Small-50.png (50px X 50px)
iTunesArtwork.png / jpg / tiff (512px X 512px)

Where should these be ?

Should they be in my App directory and then I presume would be compiled into my App ?

Do I need anything in build settings ?

I know the screenshots get uploaded when I add my App in iTunes connect but not sure on icons.

From my build.settings file

 CFBundleIconFile = "Icon.png",
 CFBundleIconFiles = {
 "Icon.png" ,
 "Icon@2x.png" ,
 "Icon-72.png" ,
 "Icon-Small-50.png" ,
 "Icon-Small.png" ,
 "Icon-Small@2x.png"
 },

That’s for both iPhone and iPad, but the icons go in the same folder with the main.lua file and the build.settings file.

You do not upload icons to iTunes connect. You do however upload the 512x512 file, so I’m not sure why it needs to be in the folder with the other icons. My understanding it has to be called “iTunesArtwork” with no extension and has to be a PNG file.

And I think they have to be case sensitive.

@robmiracle,

You can name your 512x512 image anything you want and it can have the .png extension. When you are in iTunes Connect you get an edit box with a “Browse” button to navigate to the file. It can be anywhere on your machine. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 22080 reply_id: 87715[/import]

I know I wasn’t dreaming…

Seems that the iTunesArtwork with no extension needs to be in the folder for something called “AdHoc iTunes” and should be a PNG file though I have seen another reference that it can also be a JPEG.

This is apparently for people you give AdHoc versions too for betting testing that somehow magically shows up in the store.

From this I’m gathering that unless you’re doing AdHoc beta tests, you do not need to include this in your app bundle.
