What is a good minimum resolution to support for Android?

In my config file I’m using:

        width = 480,

        height = 800,

I did a little research but it’s hard to say I have made the correct decision.

I’m looking for a good minimum pixel size that will not eliminate too many low end devices.

My app has a lot of art work and I want each image file to be as big as possible.

You’ve chosen an aspect ratio that is 0.6 – more typical for android older phones I think. New phones and certainly tablets are another story, but given that androids have typically had a taller aspect ratio in the past, that seems like a reasonable estimate.

Tablets are usually more 3:4 (0.75 aspect) oriented, and the current trend is for a wider aspect, so no great confidence in how it would serve going ahead, but looking back - it seems to have reason.
