what is the best audio format for background music for ios? 

and the best attendance rate?

Not sure what you mean by attendance rate, but for iOS, I have been using .M4A files (MPEG-4 audio) and not had any problems.

And then for Android, I use .OGG files. 

I use the free Audacity software to edit my audio files and then export to the two formats.
