I would suggest using godaddy.com to purchase your domain name, just don’t purchase any extras. Since it sounds like you’re new to websites, I also suggest installing WordPress. [import]uid: 14218 topic_id: 12189 reply_id: 44337[/import]
I’m not sure of your hosting requirements so not sure who to recommend for that however if you are ok with editing HTML and CSS then I would recommend this site for buying templates from - http://themeforest.net/?ref=MonkeyDead - that is a referral link but that is only because I really recommend the site. There are an insane amount of very nice templates on there and I currently have bought 12 of them. [import]uid: 5833 topic_id: 12189 reply_id: 44338[/import]
I use NameCheap and I recommend it over GoDaddy. I’ve used both and NameCheap is cheaper and if you follow them on twitter you can see they almost always have a coupon for domain buying. If you use namecheap, use this website to find a coupon:
http://www.retailmenot.com/view/namecheap.com
Also for a templet, if you can’t find a free one online, use themeforest.com like someone else already said. [import]uid: 7116 topic_id: 12189 reply_id: 44341[/import]
Hover.com has no upsell like GoDaddy does and I’m moving all my domains there
Plenty of discount codes to be found around the net. [import]uid: 10389 topic_id: 12189 reply_id: 44344[/import]
As for hosting: I use JustHost.com
They have a builtin system called CPanel which allows you to manage everything you want and also instantly install things like WordPress at the click of a couple of buttons. I will never use a non-CPanel host again.
The other bonus about CPanel sites is you can backup your whole site including email, sql, files, etc with one click into a .tar.gz file and transfer the lot to another CPanel hosting site. Then they uncompress it and BANG your whole site is set up again instantly. [import]uid: 10389 topic_id: 12189 reply_id: 44345[/import]
You can use blogger.com or wordpress for free hosted websites and plenty of templates to choose from [import]uid: 31262 topic_id: 12189 reply_id: 44399[/import]
Domains Domains to jump start your online business or to enhance your existing web presence. Flexible funding for domain purchase",

GoDaddy is one of the WORST registrars. If you get a spam complaint (doesn’t have to be valid, just a complaint) one of their first actions is to turn off your domain and you can get it back by paying a $250 penalty. They don’t care whether you DID or not, just whether there was a complaint.
NameCheap.com was started by a guy who knows the “domain business” inside and out and while every registrar has to take steps when there’s a spam complaint, his doesn’t start with taking your domain name hostage.
I have over 80 domains with NameCheap and as my expiration dates come up at my Wild West Domains site I’m moving the rest to NameCheap.
And to echo something someone else said, ThemForest is a great site for HTML templates, although I really like Elegant Themes (http://jayjennings.com/likes/elegantthemes) for Wordpress templates.

If you require a professional website done, not a DIY, then James is your man, but not sure how he is going with availability.
