In daily builds today 2012.781 - new Enterprise version?
When will we know more please?
How much more will the cost be?
What features will be exclusive to Enterprise?
Thanks! [import]uid: 13784 topic_id: 24659 reply_id: 324659[/import]

I wondered this too.
I watched Walter’s talk at Stanford University on YouTube the other day and he referenced the ‘current product’ and touched on a ‘new product’ ‘under the Enterprise umbrella’.
He only touches briefly on the subject when someone there asks about the integration of 3rd party services/APIs/C Libraries etc (I think).
So…it looks as though Ansca are planning a new tier of Subscription (Enterprise) above the ‘Pro’ version…
Obviously, I may be wrong with this assumption but I’m sure someone from Ansca will correct me here if I am. Otherwise, I’m sure there’ll be an announcement soon.
Here’s a link to that YouTube video where it’s discussed (at around 25 minutes into the video)

Well, GiderosMobile seems to be hot on their heels, it’s LUA based, extensible, and an IDE + Debugger, and cheaper - so it’s probably good they do this.
Adding 3rd party extensibility would be huge -
One of the first things I’d do is add barcode scanning if a module didn’t come out quickly. I can think of a few other libraries that would be very useful too. Maybe do some kickstarter projects or just farm out several jobs on oDesk.com.
My biggest fear is they reserve certain APIs for it and charge a *lot* more than pro (Like more than twice what Pro costs).
That’d be travesty IMHO. [import]uid: 13784 topic_id: 24659 reply_id: 99914[/import]
3rd party libraries would be awesome, that’s one reason I’ve started playing with GidMob lately.
But if that’s going to cost -a lot- more than pro well… it doesn’t sound good.
I’d prefer something like creating a “plugin app store” for 3rd part libraries… for example let’s say company X makes a Particle Effect engine plug-in for Corona (high performance, C library), send it to Ansca for approval (to check it’s not breaking anything), then corona users can buy (or get for free if the plugin is free) that plugin from Corona and access to new api.
Well, let’s wait and see, but I really hope it’s 3rd party libraries

Someone already made a thread about this; http://developer.anscamobile.com/forum/2012/04/10/uss-enterprise
(Just trying to keep things in one place.)
At this stage I think we can only wait for more details to be revealed soon - stay tuned [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24659 reply_id: 100063[/import]
For everyone on this thread - I just wrote a quick comment on this on the thread that Peach points to above. [import]uid: 10668 topic_id: 24659 reply_id: 100137[/import]
