Hello Guys, what method you think is better the Director class or the storyboard?
It sort of depends on the user. Many people still use Director and enjoy its model/methods, but it’s not actively supported anymore. Although the developer of Director may respond if you e-mail him on the side, it seems that he has moved on to other ventures and will not be adding any new features to the library.
Storyboard will continue to be supported, and new features/fixes implemented as necessary.
The choice is yours. Director is still a fine library and I’ve used it a lot myself. Some people prefer its functionality over Storyboard, others the opposite.
Best regards,
Brent
Hello Brent thanks for your explanation, can you help me in a think , I need do a final score for my game, I have several levels , in that levels have a score but I need do a final score with the result of all the levels.
Thanks.
I’ve used both and my favorite is storyboard, it’s a beautiful thing
Storyboard
Use storyboard. I still use Director in some of my older projects, but I’ve made the switch for my newer ones. You don’t want to be using a library that is no longer being actively supported. That’s just asking for trouble.

With regards to your high score, myself and another person already answered that in your previous topic:

We didn’t answer your final question: “this method works for the director class?”
The answer is yes, absolutely. You just need to make the variable which holds the scores available to the scene where you show your final scores. You could either make a lua file which holds any variables which need to be used in multiple scenes, and then require that lua file when you need it. Or worst case scenario just make it a global variable - I wouldn’t normally say that but if you are struggling to work this out it will probably be easier for you.
I’m still using Director admittedly - simply for the basic scene changes between files really - although I suspect however i will eventually move over to Storyboard since that is the official supported api version! My current needs are basic and Director still does what i need.
Thanks,
Are there any bug reports currently open for Storyboard?
I think having this information would be useful in deciding if you should use Storyboard or some other scene manager.
Hello, I dont have any error, but I always use the director class and it seems is an old library.
But for me is very easy to use.
I use storyboard.
In my own app development, I’ve used both Director and Storyboard. Before I started work with Corona Labs, I had made the choice to switch from Director to Storyboard for my own work.
If nothing else, Corona’s Storyboard, being part of the core, is actively maintained and being developed for.
