I see the following error under FB Audience network tab on FB portal: “Ensure that most of your ad traffic is coming from SDK 4.23 or above” - what does it mean?
I have shared this with Engineering. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
FWIW, Facebook Audience Network is not related to the Facebook V4a plugin.

Hi Rob;
I’m a long-time F.A.N. user/advertiser using your plug-in. I have received similar messages from Facebook about their switchover on November 1. This is a more detailed e-mail that came to me from Facebook this morning. It might provide further insight for your engineering people.
Thanks for any light you folks can shed on this with regards to the SDK used in your plugin.

Sorry Rob of course - I meant the FAN.
I notice today’s build 3161 has changes to FAN + v4a.
I didn’t see that in the release notes… Can you show me what you’re seeing?
Possibly I misunderstand. When I look at this page it says “Revision 3161” Which is today’s build - am i rite?
https://docs.coronalabs.com/plugin/fbAudienceNetwork/index.html
That doesn’t mean that FAN was revised. It’s just the version of the product (Corona in general) that the docs are compatible with.
Rob
ah ok
The F.A.N. plugin has been updated to 4.26. You should be able to update your app and pick up the latest build.
Rob
Thank you, thank you, thank you Rob and the Corona team.
That’s good news. Do I need to use the latest Daily Build for this – or just a build that is relatively recent (i.e. 3154)?
Thanks;
Steve
Hi Steve,
Did you manage to solve this problem? Because my app is not showing ads to people other than me (admin) and FB wants me to update the SDK, as well.
I downloaded the daily build but it did not do the trick, by 1st of November.
Any help appreciated.
The new F.A.N. plugin should work with Corona versions 3049 and later.
Thanks for the reply Rob.
But unfortunately I received the same error/warning with OP, using the build 3163. It sends requests to FB, but FB does not return any response claiming SDK we are using is out of date.
Is there any way I can check the FAN plugin version or force it to update?
t.i.a.
Are you using the paid or the free/revenue share version of the plugin?
Hi sadeceengin;
Here’s what is going on with my present apps:
-
I have not updated them with the new plugin “yet”. I’m working through the iPhone X changes in app layout now and hope to do an app update next week on 3 different apps. The new FAN plugin will be in use with these updates.
-
I did do all of the new “Create Ad Placements” on the Facebook administrative pages for the app advertising. That effectively let me keep one set of the older Advertising IDs going for one platform (i.e. either Apple or Android). But I had to set up a new “placement” and get new Advertising IDs for the other platform. Each of my apps use one Advertising ID to run banners and another to run interstitials. You’ll know that there used to be a common ID shared across both platforms. This whole Facebook change segregates the IDs. Since I have the IDs hardcoded in my apps, one of the two “platforms” should no longer be served ads as it is using the other platform’s ID (now that I have set everything up).
-
But, most interestingly, my apps are continuing to get ads when they ask for them and the control panel on Facebook is showing revenue for November 1 and November 2 that is within the norms of what I have been seeing over the last months (maybe down about 10% but things vary every day). So there wasn’t any instantaneous change to what they are serving my legacy apps using the older SDK. Maybe I am simply in a hidden grace period on this – who knows??
I’ll be testing updates sometime next week and we will see what happens then. Could you keep this thread posted with any news on how you are doing? You seem to be a week ahead of me in tackling this. BTW – is your app a brand new one or are you testing on an update?
Steve
Hi,
@Rob I’m using the free version.
@Steve it’s a new app and it passed the Facebook Audience Network review.
I have shared this with Engineering. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
