I’m wondering for performance & memory reasons how big a level should be before needing to resort to dynamic tile scrolling
by the latter i mean eg plotting 10 cols, 13 rows of sprites and modifying their bitmap as per the tilemap scrolling example posted, whereas my original question relates to eg the parallax scrolling example posted where all graphics exist in one big display group
Presumably factors to be taken into account are the number and size of unique bitmaps used. As well as maximum physical dimensions that can be held in memory.
anyone done any tests with this? is moving a large display group quicker than swapping out tiles?
thanks
