I am growing a bit tired of commitments being broken. Aka “Levels” and “Mac Apps”. I was personally told Levels would be out in March 2012, then June, then July, … October has come and no Levels. I have stood by quietly for more than a year. I am debating about looking elsewhere. The only reason why I have not already, is because I love the platform. But this is getting stupid now… [import]uid: 7197 topic_id: 31376 reply_id: 126192[/import]
Hey guys. I hear you about our slips - believe me, we realize it internally.
Frankly speaking, both Levels and Mac Apps have unknown ETAs right now. They are coming - we are *not* giving up on either one. But rolling out a new platform to support (Mac Apps) is not a trivial thing and we want to make sure we do it right. And with all the recent changes to iOS, OSX (not to mention all the other things going on in mobile), we need to make sure everything is solid.
If you are looking for a level editor, there are others out there. And they are not expensive - honestly, I wouldn’t wait for Levels at the expense of your own work or deadlines. On our 3rd party page we have a link to Level Helper. And I know of another one that we may post there soon.
As for Mac Apps, that is different and I do know it’s important for developers to be on more platforms. Again, we will get there, but want to make sure it gets done right. Wish I could give you more/better info, but just giving you an honest answer. Feel free to email me if you have any other questions (davidATcoronalabs)
Thanks,

The biggest problem here in this subject (Mac Apps and Levels and Admob support for example) was Mr. Carlos Ikaza`s times in Corona.
If he did not show these things in BETA for us - the developers - so we could not be here asking again about these new “tools”.
Carlos even showed by videos on youtube these “tools” working. So it sounded as a preview`s merchandising and everything that is announced but never launched, well, result in this.
Take care with what you guys show for the developers before having a strong feeling about continuing producing the respective showed beta`s product.

Don’t blame the new OS version. This issue with Levels has been on going for more than a year. I don’t know of any company that would flaunt a new app coming out, especially with a web page saying coming soon … only to not come soon.
The reason why I was waiting is because I was told it was due out at any moment, several times. I actually own Corona SVG Level Editor, LevelHelper, and some others. The reason I don’t like them, is that they take too much time to setup or work out all of the issues.

I both agree and disagree, with you guys.
1st off it’s nice to see new things corona is working to help keep our interest, and I totally understand your’s and mine disappointment in not having these tools in our hands right now.
I would love to publish my apps to the Apple mac store as well.
And I own the SVG Level helper and have actually never done anything with it either.
But let’s be fair here. How many times have you been working on a project that is so far along and your boss drops by and says um, hey you need to drop what you’re doing and work on this ASAP, either due to a client issue or something else.
Heck look what happened with the Nook Tablets, nobody knew that was going to happen so Corona had to drop whatever they were doing and then jump on that and get it resolved.
Again I am chomping at the bit to have both the Level Helper and Apple Mac support myself.
I think the best thing would be for Corona to put these things in their road map – have the road map organized based on priorities or importance, and just indicate that Item A / B / C are now in progress. Do not give estimated completion date because they always change, ALWAYS…
That would be very cool, Then Mark them off one at a time.
Secret items just don’t put them on unless you specify censored to really keep us wondering…
Just looking to both sides here.
