Hi,
I noticed after I set my expansion file and put on play store, the download/install process of my game goes like this :
-
Download the app
-
Run the app
-
The app then stays in this black window mode and it’ll download the “resource” files
While this is okay for now, this isn’t really ideal since I know I’ve downloaded games that are > 50MB without this step. This is rather confusing too since sometimes the black window doesn’t say/show anything due to connection issue
I’ve looked up the docs on apk and expansion file and it says :
"In most cases, Google Play downloads and saves your expansion files to the device at the same time it installs or updates the APK. This way, the expansion files are available when your application launches for the first time. However, in some cases your app must download the expansion files itself by requesting them from a URL provided to you in a response from Google Play’s Application Licensing service."
What is this “response from Google play’s application licensing service”? Is there a way to make sure that users just download everything the 1st time?
Has anyone had this problem before with their expansion file? Or can we at least change/manage the additional download step ourselves?
Thanks
