When publishing on Google Play, is a Freemium app "Free"

I’m creating a profile for an app that I’m porting to Google Play, I’ve never done this before.

I haven’t uploaded the apk yet so, maybe this is effecting what I’m seeing.

GP is asking me if my app is “paid” or “free”. In fact, it is free with in-app purchases. So, to you all who have done this before, what is the correct answer? Is my app “paid” or “free”?

I’m asking here because A: Google doesn’t make an easy way for me to ask them. and B: I don’t want to make it Free and then find out that I’m locked out of using in-app purchases and have to start over creating my app profile.

Hi Mark; An app which is free-to-download with in-app purchases is considered “free” by GP in the app’s setup. Steve B.

Additionally remember, that if you set app free once, you can’t go back to setting it paid.

But as sbullock said - app price is, price you have to pay for downloading app (or not pay, if free). In app purchases have their own prices set in appropriate section.

Thanks! I saw that I couldn’t change it, that’s why I was looking for some confirmation. For the record, I also found a way to actually email the play store and they returned the same answer. I just found the way they were doing it confusing.
