Hi, I’m familiar with Deviant Art, however it’s not exactly a market place. Is there a site that sells game assets? A bit like http://www.dexsoft-games.com/ or http://www.creativecrash.com/ but larger and that includes 2d assets, too.

Thanks guys, these sites are really nice however I’m looking for something more of a marketplace.
You see for things like vector art, company logos etc you can even find sites where designers submit art through contest that have a certain brief. We’re talking about hundreds of thousands of users here, I’m looking for something similar but for game assets.

It depends on what you want to pay - I’ve seen a few sites like what you describe where designers compete but they are fairly costly, especially if you have to buy a lot of graphics.
One option might be digital point - it’s a webmaster forum and I’ve seen some users doing the whole “art contest” thing there but for a much lower price.
