Where can I get a font license for my app?

Hi!

As the title says I wonder where I can get a font license for my clients app?

My client wants to use the font Cronos Pro and I have no idea where she should buy the license from?!?

There are several sites that sell font licenses but some of them seem a little sketchy.

The other problem is that it is difficult to find out if the license includes use in applications and not just web or desktop.

My client thought the font was free in Adobe Typekit, but it says specifically on Typekits pages that usage in applications is not covered by their license :frowning:

Anyone have experience or tips?

Thanks,

Tom

Seems that it was created by Adobe, I would start here:

Aaaah… Thanx a lot. How did I miss that

I will send them an email and ask. I´ll post their response.

Thanx again!

$35 a variant.

Cheers.

Thanks @develephant, but those licenses are not for use in apps :frowning:

I got this answer from Adobe:

Hello. Yes, a library of fonts is available for web and desktop use through Typekit, but this does not include mobile or app embedding. Unfortunately, Adobe does not yet offer such a license for its own fonts. It is a frequent customer request which we hope to satisfy in the near future, but for now it's not possible.

To bad :frowning:

Since my client will be the publisher of this app I guess it´s up to her if she takes the risk of using the font without a license.

But I will try to get her to choose a different font.

Thanks for the tips!
