Hello
I can’t find the license / terms of use of Corona. Where are they?
Pascal
They should be presented to you when you install the app via the installer.
They can also be found here: https://portal.coronalabs.com/software-terms
Rob
Thanks Rob for this link.
The content should probably be updated, as it contains a dead link: http://coronalabs.com/service-limitations/
Moreover, part 2 states that:
“The “Small Business” versions of Corona Enterprise may not be used by commercial entities with annual gross revenues of more than $500,000 USD or by educational or governmental entities with budgets of more than $500,000 USD.”
I’m a newbie regarding Corona. Could you confirm my understanding, which is that the whole part 2 of Terms Of Use is obsolete since you modified the pricing of Corona SDK, to make it free (there is no more entreprise edition if I’m correct).
I work for a big company and a lawyer will look at the terms of use of Corona soon, to decide if I’m allowed to use it for a work project, so I really need to clarify these points.
It appears those terms need to be updated. I’ll bring it up with the team. Corona Enterprise (all versions) are now Corona Native and do not have any revenue limits.
Rob
Hello Rob
Any news about the update?
Pascal
I believe the updates are with our lawyers now. We’ve removed those references. Native is free. The only money to be paid to Corona is through any purchased plugins, support plans, etc. or revenue we receive when you buy 3rd party marketplace plugins and assets. There are no royalty limits.
And with regard to ad plugins, you can build one for your own use if you want to use XYZ SuperDuper Ads, but if you want to submit that to the marketplace and you have a deal with XYZ SuperDuper Ads to earn revenue from where other people use that plugin, we would need to be the one with that revenue contract with XYZ SuperDuper Ads.
