Hello and Welcome to Corona SDK (im assuming you are new to
corona since you are asking this question)
“The main question is. If I use Objective-C, will I be able to create
a better app than using Lua?”
Objective-C / Xcode You can pretty much do anything assuming
you have skills in programming, designing , ect depending if you
working alone and have to do all by yourself. That being said
developing with apple and its SDK will only cost you the $99 we
all payed to develop for apple and if you dont use corona sdk you
avoid paying corona sdk fee $199 or special $350 I believe for
IOS and Android.
All that might sound good so far, but now lets go over a few cons,
using the SDK from apple will not allow you to develop/built for
Android (if you plan on releasing your App for Android) and Corona
makes this very easy. Corona might not support everything (yet!) but
Ansca Staff seems to be working very hard as they release updates,
bug fixes, and much more (usually Daily Builds for Subscribers) Also I
believe you get 2 calls for apple / year for support unless you pay more
lol here the community is great and you will have very helpful responses
from the community in as little as minutes (personal experience)
I can go on and on discussing Pros and Cons and there are a few articles
online comparing Apple official SDK and other SDK but Bottom line is,
I myself am a subscriber of Corona and I am very happy using Corona I
learned to program in less then 3 months having 0% programming experienced.
my app is on sale in app store (Dragging Physics) and im currently working
on other titles the developing speed with Corona is Amazing I Definitely
Recommend Corona sdk to anyone.
PS:Regarding your main question, it all comes down to you how good you
are programming designing ect (working as a team or individual) many apps
made using Corona have gotten millions of downloads (bubble ball)
others have top 100,000+ (Blast Monkey) im sure there are a lot more apps
made with Corona who been very successful.
I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck,
