Hi I bought particle candy and I start to look the examples.
I can’t see the images in the particles. Is there a property to see the image?
thanks a lot [import]uid: 13028 topic_id: 15989 reply_id: 315989[/import]

I believe I’m having the same issue. I am viewing the samples and it looks like the alpha channel is broken or something. The particles work, just not the images for them. Any help as to what could cause this?
–edit–
I can now confirm that the issue exists outside of the examples. I have a hunch its something to do with color depth. Suggestions are quite welcome. [import]uid: 42417 topic_id: 15989 reply_id: 60273[/import]
Well, I found the answer in the – PLEASE READ BEFORE USING --.txt file
PLEASE NOTE THAT PARTICLE CANDY VERSION 1.0.16 AND ABOVE REQUIRES
CORONA SDK *VERSION 612 OR NEWER*. IF YOU CAN’T ACCESS THE LATEST
CORONA DAILY BUILDS (THEY ARE AVAILABLE FOR SUBSCRIBED CORONA USERS
ONLY), USE THE INCLUDED PARTICLE CANDY VERSION 1.0.15 INSTEAD WHICH
DOES NOT REQUIRE THE LATEST CORONA BUILD.
I’m using the Version 591. In particle candy version 1.0.15, all works fine. [import]uid: 13028 topic_id: 15989 reply_id: 60341[/import]
Wow, my bad and I guess it makes sense. I just didn’t expect we’d have to use a nightly build and not the latest stable (which I have).
Thanks for the heads up - I had actually read that previously and made some assumptions.
This being said, are there any drawbacks to using a nightly build for development? I would be saddened to develop something in a beta Corona build and be turned down at the app store for some reason or another.
thanks for help in advance. [import]uid: 42417 topic_id: 15989 reply_id: 60458[/import]
After being reserved at first, we used daily builds a lot during the last months and found that, in most cases, they are not only stable but also fix a lot of existing bugs. Of course, you should be careful when developing with daily builds and do sorrow device testing then, but Ansca is doing a great job here.
The reason why we implemented image tinting to the latest Particle Candy version (although this feature is only supported by daily builds yet) is that most of our customers are registered Corona users who are so happy that this feature is finally available now (after waiting for it a looong, long time).
If you are not a subscribed Corona user, just use the previous Particle Candy version 1.0.15, which is also included. There is no big difference, except that the latest version (requiring Corona daily build 612 or newer) supports image tinting now and got rid of the module function (wich is an internal change only).
