why is bit plugin at pro subscription level?

Seems like very weird pricing structure.

Seems like it ought to have been in core anyway.  (and if core ever upgrades to Lua 5.2 it will be)

But even if relegated to plugin, why require a pro subscription?  Especially since all you did was wrap someone else’s free library?  That is, it’s not like you can justify it as recouping a ton of development costs.  It just seems greedy, and a bit pointless.

It’s not like bitwise operations are some esoteric “elegance” feature.  It’s certainly not the kind of thing that in itself would entice someone to upgrade from some lower subscription (especially since pure-Lua solutions are available if performance isn’t critical).  So, rather, as is, it’s just an annoyance – seemingly basic functionality that you’d expect to be there, but crippled for marketing purposes, so you’ve gotta roll your own.

Might as well yank out the math library and make it a plugin too, though at enterprise level.
