Why is the SDK called Corona?

Question is in the title.

Did you guys choose it because it sounded cool?

Probably as a play on the phrase “The Moon and The Sun” or something like that.

i.e. Lua is the Moon and the SDK is the Sun (Corona).

Or, maybe I’m just stretching.  (Yes I know Corona is part of the sun…)

Thats the best answer I have heard.

I think they chose it because they just needed something “cool” sounding.

That’s actually a question I never asked of Carlos and Walter.  There are many definitions of Corona including “Crown Like” and the halo around the sun. It’s also a name of a cigar, and of course a beer.

So I’m going with “crown” since that comes up frequently when it gets translated from many foreign languages.  But that’s not official by any means.
