Will Apple reject a universal app?

Hey everyone,

I’m in the last few hours of finishing up our new game and this will be the first time I’ve attempted to publish through Apple (our last app was Android only). I’ve been reading about Apple’s guidelines and specifically I am wondering if Apple will reject an app if the build.settings file lists info for both Apple and Android?

I figure this can go one of three ways:

  1. Ansca scrubs out Android related build instructions when compiling an Apple app, and there is no need of concern, or

  2. This is compiled but the metadata Apple speaks of is promo materials, screenshots and videos, and internal code issues are not a concern, or

  3. My app gets rejected.

Anyone insight would be truly welcomed. Thanks -Shane [import]uid: 64596 topic_id: 17121 reply_id: 317121[/import]

You have nothing to worry about. The build.settings is only used by the Ansca servers to know what to put in the app’s plist. None of the configuration- or lua files will be present in the compiled app.
When compiling for iOS you get a legitimately compiled app that’s accepted by Apple.

However, make sure you don’t mention that the app is also available for Android anywhere in your app, or in the iTunes app description. [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 17121 reply_id: 64400[/import]

Thanks. I was hoping that was the case, though I guess it wouldn’t be too difficult to create two build.settings files. Just re-recorded the gameplay / promo video to edit out “those other guys” references. [import]uid: 64596 topic_id: 17121 reply_id: 64403[/import]
