Will Apple reject apps with links to websites?

It seems that I read somewhere that Apple can reject an app because of links to websites. Is my memory wrong? All I want to do is link to a couple of PDF log sheets that are on my website for the user to print out and use.

Well, Apple can reject your app because the reviewer stepped on dog poo on his way to work and is now in a bad mood.

I think what you are thinking of is somewhere in their guidelines they said something like ‘your app has to be more than just links to websites blah blah blah’. As long as your app has real content and the links are for like what you said, log sheets, then you should be fine. Every app I have created has a link to my website in it.

Oh, and as long as the links aren’t going to porn too. [import]uid: 147305 topic_id: 27292 reply_id: 110922[/import]

@budershank hit it. Apple will reject apps that are nothing more than webViews of a website. Likewise, Apple will reject an app that is just a bunch of links to websites. The app needs to have some value to be an app.

But an app that has links is not the same as an app that **IS** links. Clicking off to websites itself is perfectly allowed.

I have an app with a page dedicated solely to links to websites. The links would take you out of the app and open up in safari. Mind you, this was two years ago, but I’ve updated it and nothing has gotten in the way. [import]uid: 7116 topic_id: 27292 reply_id: 110983[/import]

@alex, you may have gotten lucky there. Generally now at least that kind of app would be rejected. [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 27292 reply_id: 110994[/import]
