Windows Computer - Can I write Android Apps & Mac Apps on a Windows Computer?

Hello:

I’m just beginning to learn about writing apps. I only have Windows computers but I need to write a simple App for and Iphone. Is there a way to do that on a Windows computer or must you have the OS for Apple (i.e. Lion, Snow Leopard, etc…)

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You need to have Apple hardware to build for the iOS platform. Period. That is one of the prices of admission to the platform. [import]uid: 5317 topic_id: 19831 reply_id: 76943[/import]

Hi Celeste,

Although you could write it on a PC you’d still need a Mac to submit it and to build it for your own device to test.

My suggestion would be to write it on your PC and then use a service like this; http://www.macincloud.com/ which would let you build and submit. (I haven’t personally used the service and am in no way affiliated with them, however another Corona user recently recommended them.)

Rxmarccall - that they do* - but give it a chance. Macs are awesome  (Plus they’re a great investment for a developer.)

*I just spent $75 on a new magic trackpad. It seems so excessive but I just don’t like mice any more. I have been spoiled! [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 19831 reply_id: 76989[/import]

Yea true, its been really a nice piece of hardware, no regrets thus far! [import]uid: 19620 topic_id: 19831 reply_id: 77069[/import]

Thank you all for your responses. Another question: Where can I get a used Mac (please suggest Mac Mini, Macbook pro or whatever…) to write simple apps.

By simple apps I mean: I have an Excel spreadsheet set up like a form. I want to be able to give this to several employees who have Iphones. When they are in the field they can access the App, fill in the blanks on the spreadsheet and press another button to send it to my email.

Is there a site that any of you can recommend that I can buy a “simple” Mac for this use with the amount to GBs, memory, OS, etc… that I would need?

Thank you all for your help. Please be patient with me.

i wouldnt go for the min requirements as you never know when requirements may change then you have an expensive paper weight cause you cant use it for what you got it for. try to find one only a year or two old if you going the used route. personally id go ahead and get a new mac and if you just got to have a pc just install parallels and windows on the mac. as for where theres always ebay and sometimes geeks.com have some [import]uid: 7911 topic_id: 19831 reply_id: 77205[/import]
