[WIP] Hoppy Naut

Hello Corona Devs!  I have been working on Hoppy Naut since June 2015 and plan to release in January 2016.  This is my second project in Corona that will be published in the App Store, Google Play and Amazon.  It is built using Corona SDK pro subscription, uses the Vungle plug-in for monetization and the Flurry plug-in (using restricted mode) for analytics.

The game is a side-scrolling infinite hopper through 6 different landscapes, procedurally-generated with some pre-made challenge/reward sequences thrown in.  The player must jump over gaps, spikes and ground-crawling foes, collecting coins along the way.  Coins can be traded in to continue the game at the end and to purchase capsules from the vending machine containing a random character.

For artwork, I am using the familiar Kenney Platformer Pack, with very few adjustments.  The sound effects are bfxr generated and are not final.  There are 3 different music tracks which are not final.

I am a solo developer, with a business partner who helps me with testing and gathering feedback.  I wanted to build a project in 6 months that had some hope of having a large install base and could potentially bring in some regular revenue.

Here is the beta trailer

I am hoping some of you who know what to look for will sign up for the Testflight and find some bugs or at least just send your thoughts on any aspect of the app and/or the concept.

To sign up, you can either send me a private message here with your email, or sign up at hoppynaut.com.  I submitted the test build to Testflight beta review this morning, so I hope it won’t be too long before it is available to you.

Thanks for reading and hope to hear from some of you!

Best regards,

Tony Godfrey

Nice!

Good luck!

I also bought those Kenney graphics awhile ago and have been itching to do something with them.

There are still many more packs from Kenney I would like to put to good use.  There will never be enough time to get to all the ones I want to play with though!

Nice demo…  makes you want to play the game.  Good choice on the music track and creative title.  Hope you app does well.
