Wrapping/Tiling Mask

Hi,

I’ve been wondering whether it’s possible to create effectively infinite mask that just wraps round. Are such things possible?

There might be ways that would simulate it using tiled masks, but I’m fairly sure you’d soon run into problems because there is a limit to how many masks you can apply to a single object and have them working properly.

It is likely but not *guaranteed* that you’ll be able to do something like this in the future using snapshots that would be applied to an image or another snapshot as a mask using composite filters, but there’s no ETA and indeed no confirmation of it being in for sure - so far we and the Corona crew are just saying it’d be cool to do.

If you know how big an area you are going to want to draw though, there are various simple-ish ways of faking it though - what are you trying to achieve exactly?

Thinking of it, I could simulate it using a mask slightly larger than the screen, though I assume there’s a performance penalty for that?
