XCode 4.3, new iPad

Hello,

Today i upgraded to OS Lion, installed XCode 4.3.2, and installed build 704 from Corona SDK.

When i run my game on the XCode simulator on iPad Retina, the whole game runs very slow. Dunno why. Have a Mac Mini with 4gb, maybe that’s it?

In the Corona simulator the app runs fine.

Few questions:

To fix the scaling bug for the new iPad, all I have to do is update to xCode 4.3, and the latest Corona SDK, and recompile?

I mean i don’t have a new iPad, so i can’t test if the scaling issue is still around. And I don’t want to issue an update while the problem still exists :slight_smile:

I`m like you. I do not have a new iPad and so I can use only the Corona Simulator and Xcode BUT the problem I see is that when running on Xcode new Ipad simulator, the app runs really slow too. :\
What is this?

You need to make sure you have 704 B to avoid the new iPad scaling bug.

@Rob, am using exactly that version. :\

Will look into it again btw.
Thanks as usual,

Sorry Rodrigo, that was really meant for the OP to make sure they don’t run into the scaling bug.

I’ve seen the XCode Simulator in Retina mode be very slow, so I don’t think its you are or anything you’re doing. I can tell you that I picked up a Retina iPad and my apps are lighting fast on them, so I just try to avoid using the Xcode simulator in Retina mode. The corona simulator should show you any positioning things and you can test any thing you can’t in the Corona simulator in the iPad 2 mode. You don’t really need to see the high resolution version there.

@Rob, no problem!

So as I do not own the new iPad, Ill let it go being confident on Corona Simulator. Xcode will be "ok" to look at the graphics rather than the apps performance (as you also said it does run slow).
Thanks,
