Xcode 4 (4.0.2) How to use with Corona?

I want to install/configure Xcode 4 for Lua and Corona API Syntax Highlighting…

and Building.

Seems like a fairly standard sort of thing to want to do. But all I can find is talk of it not being possible. Or that others have it working, without any indication of how.

Anyone know where to find information on how to do this? [import]uid: 46209 topic_id: 11178 reply_id: 311178[/import]

Xcode 4 broke a lot of things that worked in Xcode 3. Everybody, please file a bug report with Apple telling them you want Lua support in Xcode. The more people who do this, the more likely Apple will actually do it. (It worked for the Python and Ruby communities.)

Is it really apples fault? Not that someone needs to rebuild or otherwise reconfigure the Lua syntax file for Xcode 4 due to a change in formatting requirements or other issue like that?

And why, if this is the case, that apple is at fault, have we not heard more about it, or started some kind of initiative to get it fixed by apple before now?

Btw, your bug report link fails. Asks me to send a bug report for the bug report failing to an email address. Is that irony? Or American ways of reducing workload by reducing the amount of information that can come in reporting bugs. [import]uid: 46209 topic_id: 11178 reply_id: 40575[/import]

Yes, it is Apple’s fault. They changed everything in Xcode 4, the compiler, the UI, the Applescript dictionary, the file formats, the mental model, Interface Builder, Interface Builder plugin formats. There are plenty of discussions all over the internet about this. Lua syntax highlighting is probably the least of what’s on most Xcode developers’s minds. That’s why everybody here needs to make their voice heard and file a bug with Apple.

Try https://bugreport.apple.com (it always redirects me to the original link I pasted). [import]uid: 7563 topic_id: 11178 reply_id: 40580[/import]
