Xcode and apple developer fee

Is Xcode standard(no cost) with the MinMacs or is that bought separately? Is it standard part of the OS that comes on the minimacs?

Is there a minimum version Xcode needed to work with Corona and build of apps for the market? I understand there is a developer fee of $99 per year to submit apps to apple market, does that fee in any way include Xcode with it?

XCode is free and can be downloaded from the developer website from apple, if you have a developer account.

If you want to support the iPad 3, you need xCode 4.3, and OSx Lion, and Corona 704 or higher.

As @rmbsoft said Xcode is free. It’s now installed from the Mac App Store. You want the latest Xcode version if you want to build for iOS 5.1 and later.

You will need to get Corona SDK 704A to also build with this version of Xcode and support 5.1. However, iPad 3 retina support is in 704 B which I don’t believe is open to non-subscribers yet.

This seems like a big problem, but considering you have to be a subscriber to Corona SDK to publish anything, you will have to subscribe anyway so its not the end of the world.

The $99 developer license has nothing to do with Xcode. It gets you access to the developer forums, beta releases of iOS and Xcode and more importantly, the right to publish to the iTunes store. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 25071 reply_id: 101849[/import]
