I understand your reluctance to allow code libraries given your x-platform plans, but it would be great to create some kind of plug-in architecture for 3rd party developers. This way, a whole ecosystem can grow up around your product. While I hesitate to refer to Director (a horrible mis-mash of a product), the XTRA model worked pretty well in some ways. I.e. provide a way for developers to add functionality for specific uses that don’t fit into your feature priorities - a common one for Director was an XTRA that enabled access to serial ports to communicate with the outside world. The XTRAs could be x-platform, or platform specific.
I can imagine plug-ins for ad-placement, 3D stuff, sound synthesis, network access, hardware accessories, midi etc.
