Your New Site

Sorry, but so far your new site has brought me nothing but frustration and I’m at least an hour into looking for an answer for a bug and so far have only been getting more irritated with what I’ve run into on the new site.

  1. Simply cannot find a forum search anywhere…and I used to use this a LOT.
  2. Can’t find how to get to daily builds. Found a great link that is listed as Daily Build info…that links to a blank template page.
  3. In all my manual searching and digging looking for answers I need another one answered desperately. You USED to have an option to Upgrade from Indie to Pro license. I no longer see that option anywhere…or even as a pull-down option on the order form. I’m assuming you didn’t kill the option to upgrade. So, how is it done now?

If I’m just a blind idiot…please anyone feel free to point me in the right direction to any of the above answers.

Ok, I finally stumbled across the “daily builds” so I’ve got that one solved at least. But more I tried to find a way to upgrade my license from indie to pro the more it looks like you can no longer do that.

I’m also finding the site very frustrating and difficult to read on an iPhone 4S - it used to be very few clicks to find the active and new forum posts. Now it’s about 4 clicks and you have to zoom the page - something double tapping doesn’t help with because the text is tiny (thank you retina display) and fills the screen width, so zooming doesn’t do anything. I like the new site, looks more professional than the old one.

I see your second point you solved, the others I believe were answered in another thread but as I don’t have a link to hand (and for future reference) -

  1. We know. You can search here; http://developer.anscamobile.com/search/ I know that is by no means ideal and this is something we hope to address very soon. (I am frustrated by this as well, I use search a lot.)

  2. We never had the option on the website, I believe this is because the price depends on the user. (How long they’ve had the sub they are upgrading from.) You can still do this as always by contacting support using this form; http://developer.anscamobile.com/forms/support

Three tabs would be nice in a mobile (phone) readable format: New, Active, Unanswered

I believe that the URLs for the site are still basically the same (for SEO reasons) as all my bookmarked links still work.

I also miss “track” (I think that’s what it was called) under my account where I can see all topics that I was involved in. It was really helpful in finding a specific thread very quickly.

Hey again,

I know - the recent activity/new threads sections up top were great and I hope we can get them restored. They were very useful for stopping by the forum and easily seeing new threads without checking each sub forum.

RE “track”, I still see it, however it has moved to the bottom of the page from the top. Can you please check and see if it is there but simply in a new position? (Possibly by using ctrl+f for “track”?)

I was SO used to the old site that I can’t get my head around all the changes.
But hey, You are looking at the guy, who still uses Win XP just because Windows 7’s taskbar looked different :smiley: Hee Hee!

Anyway, in the previous version, If I just brought the mouse pointer over the COMMUNITY button at the top without clicking, it used to show the options (Forum,Code Exchange, Etc.).
Any change that could be brought back?
Not a big issue, but going back and forth links would become a hell of a lot easier!

Hey, Peach, I don’t know which screen I should be looking at when I search for “track”. User screen doesn’t have “track” anywhere…

Also, I don’t see “Edit” link on a topic I created in the past. So, even if I want to mark a topic as “Resolved”, I don’t think I could. (Not that I need to mark something resolved at the moment.) Could it be that new topic we create on new site would have “Edit” but not the ones that we created on the old site?

Edit: BTW, I’m using Chrome. (And, to clarify, I can edit my reply posts, but none of the topics I started.)

The Studio Directory no longer displays the company name… and they are not listed in Alphabetical order.

I started with Corona years ago and for some reason my company (Swipe Studios) always shows up as the last link in Canada. Curious.
