youtube video...

I am preparing to release the game I have been working on.

I made a youtube video in order to include it in submission media files. Need your (collective) opinion - do you think this shows the game well enough? It just shows the functionality of the app - does it need snazzy twirling text effects?

Your video does a good job of giving an in-depth look into your app (awesome app by the way!). Because the video only screen captures your app playing, to take it to the next level you could try putting a soundtrack to the whole video and then insert text highlighting the main features of the app. Take a look at my video to see what I did. It might give you some ideas:

This was my first time using Adobe AfterEffects. It only took me 3 days to learn it, so if you have the software I’d definitely recommend you give it a try for your next video.

By the way, your video has perfect coloring and great quality. What software did you use to capture your iPad screen? I used the Air Server app to wirelessly mirror my iPad screen to my Mac, and then I used my QuickTime Player to capture the screen. But I wasn’t happy with the colors or the quality. How were you able to capture your iPad screen in such a perfect way? [import]uid: 82194 topic_id: 30366 reply_id: 121639[/import]

Thanks, davidJames - yes, that video of yours is the “artistic” kind. I am just not very good at those… I will have to think about this.

As for the video - I made it on Windows, the game was running in simulator, and video was captured and then mixed a bit (transitions) using Screencast-o-matic paid version (the free one is limited to 10 fps, paid one can go up to 30. http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/

On iPad it runs smoother than the video - at 60fps. But the video conveys the gist of it. [import]uid: 160496 topic_id: 30366 reply_id: 121695[/import]
