Zoom in part to a part of screen

Hi guys,

Can somebody give me a hint how to solve following problem.

Image you have a Chess board on full screen.

How to zoom in to a figure that player touches , so that only that figure and few surrounding fields are visible?

And how to return to full screen after player finished playing/touching that particular figure?
