@morenocolombo it seems like the average amount you generate per install has gone down since launch. [import]uid: 58777 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115703[/import]
Im releasing my first ever app this coming week and I was confused with the revmob income model. I used to think revmob payed for impressions and installs, but now I noticed that they pay for installs only? Am I right? I’m not expecting too many downloads for my first app so if I’m right revmob wouldn’t be the way to go probably… [import]uid: 118482 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115742[/import]
All in all, being paid by impression or by install it does not matter at most, as all the “numbers” will only grow if you get a reasonable number of downloads anyway. I will not be detailing thing here, but we know hard way that without downloads means without “nothing” and worse “$$$”.
Resuming, for me (even not having a “reasonable” number of downloads) I still would chose RevMob THAN any other Ads company showed here. Specially if I consider the amazing “feedback” that Guilherme - @guischv comes here always to give us and also notice us even about the “minor-sdk details” changements. I think it`s just great and noce to work with.
Anyway, It`s just my point of view and personal opinion at all and sure you have your own way to make things.
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115744[/import]
@soccermandrei
I used to think the same. The title of this topic is confusing. RevMob used to guarantee 10$ eCPM, but even though I’ve applied within 2-3 days after creation of this topic, the offer didn’t stand.
This means, that eCPM is just a statistic for you, not indication of an income.
The only columns in the stats that you should be interested in is the amount of installs and the revenue you get from it. Nothing else. [import]uid: 109453 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115745[/import]
Im just thinking that if it takes me a while to get to 10,000 downloads(if i ever do) with my first app admob or inneractive might be a more guaranteed source of income unless ispecifially tell people todowloaded the advertized apps. [import]uid: 118482 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115746[/import]
As a note: whats really keeping me interested in revmob though is that they dont produce lag like the inneractive and admob ads do. Im sure we all want more ad networks supported dont we. [import]uid: 118482 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115747[/import]
@guischv ,
Hey mate, after I update my RevMob SDK from version 1.2.1 to 1.3.0 (as I was going to use the new [lua]openAdLink[/lua]) I noticed that after resuming (multitasking) my app it will not display any RevMob Ads anymore (it is working nicely with version 1.2.1 though - using the same code you`ve posted here some posts ago about [lua]onApplicationStart[/lua] and [lua]onApplicationResume[/lua].
Do you know why is this happening right now with the latest SDK? :S
Anyway I will not update if it does not display the FullAdScreen Ads anymore on the app`s conditions (starting / resuming - multitasking) as I said above.
Please @guischv, bring some light here as I really would love to start using the new [lua]openAdLink()[/lua]
Thanks and Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115748[/import]
@krystian6 - have you had confirmation from revmob that the $10 eCPM guarantee won’t be honoured? [import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115765[/import]
Well the $10 eCPM guarantee was only valid if you have applied for it.
I’ve received email saying that it’s no longer valid because it was made redundant, as most devs have higher than $10 eCPMs.
The other thing is… eCPM is just a statistic. [import]uid: 109453 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115767[/import]
I did apply for it - I guess I will find out on August 15th if my eCPM gets rounded up - I had an eCPM of $7.96 in June, I suspect because most of my revenue came from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait where the revenue per install is less.
[import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115769[/import]
I don’t think you understand what eCPM is [or I don’t]:
eCPM is just a statistic, it’s an average of how much money you could get from 1000 impressions with your current impression-to-install ratio. It’s got nothing to do with how much money you will get. That’s how I understand it, that’s how it’s described in FAQ. [import]uid: 109453 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115771[/import]
It’s not an estimate when it’s based on past, factual data though.
If you take your revenue for a given day, divide it by the number of impressions and multiply by 1000, you get the eCPM.
The guarantee was for $10 eCPM, so for every 1000 impressions I should get at least $10. My dashboard says for June I got $7.96 per 1000 impressions, so in theory my revenue for that month should be rounded up by just over 20%.

[{(BUMP!)}] Sorry but I have to, devs.

Check krystian6 and my posting in page 9. This is happening since 1.3.0. [import]uid: 19297 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115964[/import]
@ckausik , Thanks for the orientation!
So, you both are getting the same problem as me, correct? If so, we really need a answer of @guischv.
I`ll be waiting for some “light” here as well.
Cheers,
Rodrigo. [import]uid: 89165 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 115968[/import]
Does RevMob learn what people install and what people ignore? I get a lot of gambling apps popping up for my kids game and I don’t think that parents are installing them. My revenue has tanked even though I still get about 1000 clickthroughs a day. No one is installing the free apps anymore [import]uid: 79620 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 116027[/import]
An option to filter out ‘adult’ apps from appearing would be useful, sending kids to gambling apps is only going to annoy parents.
I get the impression that there’s only a handful of campaigns running at one time, so we’re kind of at the mercy of the advertisers revmob can attract. We have to hope that they are getting a good enough return on their installs to continue placing campaigns.
On Android, it only ever seems to be ‘Rule The Kingdom’ even though I already have this installed. [import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 116030[/import]
Yeah. It would be awesome to have such an option. I also don’t know how many companies are advertising with RevMob. I don’t think there’s a massive amount because I usually get the same apps showing up all the time too. I also noticed that the payouts per install have dropped dramatically since I started using them. Still love their platform and will continue to use RevMob for all my advertising though. [import]uid: 79620 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 116031[/import]
@krystian6 – that’s correct.
@nick_sherman – hi there. The guarantee is not in place anymore since we’re delivering much higher eCPMs on iOS and thus it’s kind of redundant. Make sure you implement the newest Fullscreens and you’ll see a huge eCPM. @krystian6 is right and eCPM is simply a division of revenue by impressions.
@RSCdev – have you downloaded apps recently? Because the ads are supposed to show always. Let me know if you think there’s a bug. The new openAdLink provides total flexibility, you can call it however you want.
@rebelwax – yes, we’re running an artificial intelligence algorithm. We’re constantly improving the relevance of the ads, so rest assured this will only get better. Expect a higher eCPM next week! Also, please report the gambling app as we’ll remove this campaign.
@nick_sherman – thanks for reporting. can you report the name of the gambling app? We’ll pause this campaign as we’re not supposed to run gambling apps. An advertiser registered the gambling app without we knowing – we’ll implement further checks to prevent this from happening. [import]uid: 137117 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 116044[/import]
Hi @RSCdev, ckausik and krystian6.
I am investiganting the problem with “opened again - multi-task”.
You can execute the following command to send us more detail about your environment
RevMob.printEnvironmentInformation()
I am using this example of code to try to simulate the problem:
local function onSystem( event )
require 'revmob'
if event.type == "applicationStart" then
print("applicationStart")
RevMob.showFullscreen({ ["Android"] = revmobAndroidID, ["iPhone OS"] = revmobiOSID })
elseif event.type == "applicationResume" then
print("applicationResume")
RevMob.showFullscreen({ ["Android"] = revmobAndroidID, ["iPhone OS"] = revmobiOSID })
end
end
Runtime:addEventListener( "system", onSystem )
PS: We will upload a new release candidate soon with some nice features.
