@oskwish: wow thank you so much for sharing the data. I was dying to find out what type results we can get. I am curious, what type of downloads (rough number) can give you 1000 impression a day. In term of results that’s not too shabby (at least for me) that’s about 10 apps sold a day…

I do not thing you will get an extra 10 dollars I am affraid. The eCPM is a calculated number since Revmob do not pay by impressions but by downloads only. You could have a million impression but if nobody download a free app, you get nothing ( it will be very surprising to get no downloads in that case). I also think that the 10 dollars guaranty has passed. It meant that they will guaranty you a eCPM of $10 for 1000 ( with again the required downloads) So instead of getting 8.99 for your 1000 impressions you will have gotten $10 (not 10 + 8.99)

@coolseal: In term of play,stop these are button that allow you to stop/start the showing of the popup remotely from your account (Revmob site) It is cool since until now there is no way to do that unless you build and release a new version of the app.( @Luis, when is the iOS version coming out?). On the pay question, I think there is a button on the top/right on the dashboard where you can enter your PayPal email.

Very cool game! Not that easy. I like the way you show the popup at each stage. I did download an app but unfortunately that app crashed my iPad. It started loading but then never finished (MyTown2) Of course it is was not your app nor your fault. Just to let you know. It could even have been my iPad since I usually have a lot apps seating around.

Hello Friends,
I have added a ‘more-games’ button to my game, and calling the RevMob’s pop-up function from the button touch ‘began’ event.
I have noticed that: after touching that button, at least 50% of the time, the pop-up takes more than 10 seconds to show up, leaving an impression to the player that the button-touch is not working (by that, leaving him enough time to touch another button, like replay-button etc).

Any one has experienced this problem? Any fixes for this? And, anyone know why this is happening?

And also, on iPhone, one time my game was kind of hung for 30-40 seconds, and then restarted. I think there was a limited internet connectivity at that time, but not sure if that is the exact reason.
Anyone saw this issue?

I have seen something similar where I come back to the main menu (and show my popup) and sometimes I have enough time to start a new game before the popup shows up in the middle of the game. I may need to think about how to show the popup at point where it does affect the game too much. Most of the time it is ok so I am not sure if it is just a internet speed issue. It will be great to have some kind of indication that something is going like a wheel indicator until the popup window. Need to do so more tests…

Please alow a little more time for our algorithim “learn” more about your game. We are still statistically analyzing your game audience (geography, similar interests, session lenght, etc…).
Once this process is complete, you are likely to see an increase in eCPM surpassing $10 - which is our minimum deal for you.

@Coolseal:
Please choose either PayPall or Bank-wire. The payment is net 45 days and you need to have a minimum of $200 though.

@Satheesh:
Apple is likely to deprecate UDID in iOS 6. We are working in alternatives for Corona and I’ll let you know once we choose the best option.

Android eCPM is at the range of $4-$6.

  1. 1000 impressions/popups with zero downloads = $0? … so you dont make $10/ 1000 popups ?

  2. however, 1000 impressions with 1 download, (if you have the guarantee) = $10 + (~ $0.30 to $2.35 for the download) or just rounded up to $10 to fulfill guarantee?

Thanks Luis. preloading of popups would be really nice. Is the delay depends on Internet speed also ?
My app was restarted once when wifi connection is week. I will see if I have any logs during that particular incident.
My biggest worry is: if this happens when apple’s team reviews my app, you know what is going to happen. (I read somewhere that they sometimes test apps with no internet access. I will see if I can reproduce it with no wifi or 3g.)

Thanks Mo. It would be really nice to see a progress-bar or loading indication so that player won’t click on the button again and again thinking that its not working.

I got an idea, but not sure if that works.
When a player touches the “More-Games” button, I am thinking of changing the button label to “Loading…”.
And, when the pop-up shows up, I want to change the button’s label back to “More-Games”.
But, I have no idea how to find out if the pop-up showed up or not.

I think, it would also be nice to have a popup-cancel function.
When player touches ‘play’ button before the pop-up shows up, we can cancel the popup so that it won’t show up in the middle of the game. Again, I don’t know if there is function to do that.

Hi has anyone used RevMob with storyboard.api. I am trying to implement it but I’m not sure where to put the ‘bcfads.showPopup…’ in my ‘scene1.lua.’

I have tried it at the beginning, I tried it in ‘createScene’ and ‘enterScene’ and I cannot see the add popup. Can someone please assist me in this manner.

I keep getting the error of:

“attempt to concatenate local ‘applicationId’ (a table value)”

I am using the director class and just read through all 4 pages of this thread and cannot seem to find a definitive answer. What happens is I want to call the ad when a player loses the game. I am using the director class so this creates a new scene called loseScreen (“loseScreen.lua”). Now when the player loses, the whole screen goes white and I get the aforementioned error. I tested with the ad code still in but no calls to it and it worked fine.

Is there a solution to this yet? I know other developers have already released apps with RevMob and I am excited to get started but I cannot seem to get past this issue. Please help! :smiley: [import]uid: 50511 topic_id: 25797 reply_id: 108260[/import]

@Roy: are you testing from the simulator? If yes see below my answer to I think was the same issue you are having:


@Rodrigo: Are you doing this on the simulator? If yes, it won’t work. I think I had that issue at some point. It is because the code return the device type and in the simulator (pc or mac) the return type is not correct. Only the device will return the correct type (ie: “iPhone OS” for the iphone/ipad) Hope this help.

I signed up to revMob and I’m running the code from gitHub. I get everything But the pop-ups. I checked on revMob and I hit the ‘Run state’ button and it said “ads in your app are idling”. Then I hit the ‘Run state’ button again and it said “ads in your app are running”

But still I only get the picture of the world with the ‘Meet RevMob!’ title and no pop-ups:(
