addressbook : grab all contacts at once

Hi folks,

I have been working lately on the plugin addressbook. Thank you very much for this plugin, I have a use for its features as it is now.

First and foremost, I would like to mention a typo that needs to be fixed: the API doc says that the first parameter of native.showPopup function is “addressBook”, however this does not work on device. You have to use “addressbook” without the uppercase “B”, else nothing happens.

I was wondering if there is a way to do this: after a system popup asking for permission, grab the whole contacts at once and return them in a table, so I can parse the whole of it. I would like to be able to automatically add contacts that have an account as friends, and allow invites to be sent to contacts that do not.

Also, is this plugin planned for Android and Windows Phone?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention (the issue with “addressBook” vs. “addressbook”). I have reproduced what you say and I filed a bug report (42546) pertaining to it.

Did you ever find out about retrieving all of the contacts at once?

We ended up creating an Enterprise plugin for this, works fine on iPhone / Android. You can test it on our app Keetiz.
