build.settings publisher id change "soon" for com.scottrules44

Long explanation:

First off, thanks for using any of my plugins (free or paid), I love helping developer make apps and games faster and giving them access to native library (or lua library) in an easy and nice way. I just wanted to give a heads up, scottrules44.com website is expiring with go daddy on 1/12/17. While scottrules44 has alway been an interesting domain name, this name was made when I was 11 making yahoo account. All docs and other things have been moved already been moved to scotth.tech and new plugin (like AirPrint) already use tech.scotth . But I have decided it’s time to move away from scottrules44 all the way. So between 12-14 (which is my goal) of Jan all plugins here publisherId will change to “tech.scotth”, keep in mind as off the 11th of January and probably not till later during after noon of the 12th everything should still work, will keep you updated in this thread as plugins are updated. I have a lot plugins, docs, and samples that need to be changed so that is why it’s may take a couple days(might be faster or longer than i think). It should only take like 10 seconds if you only use a couple my plugins ,but people will be asking why does this plugin not work so I thought it would be nice to give a tiny little heads up.

Thanks, Scott

(PS my email scottrules44@gmail.com has not changed as of right now(use it for to many things))

Short   explanation:

Nothing has changed as of right now but publisherId in build.settings for my plugins will need be changed (which should take like 10 seconds) as plugins are updated between the 12-14 of January. Will keep this thread updated as plugins are updated.(feel free to follow this thread)

plugins A-O and Pebble are updated(will take an hour to process) note all docs and samples (let me know if I missed something) have updated the build.settings with publisherId set to tech.scott please check out the docs and samples that go along with the plugin you using.

As of Jan 9 2017 all plugins with “com.scottrules44” (or all plugins here) publisher id need to be changed to “tech.scotth” in your build.settings.

Pretty easy:

example

Old way:

plugins = { ["plugin.onePassword"] = -- one password is just for example { -- required publisherId = "com.scottrules44",-- old }, }

New way:

{ ["plugin.onePassword"] = -- one password is just for example { -- required publisherId = "tech.scotth",-- new }, }

You will get errors during build( and in simulator) if this is not changed.

long version

I just want to give an update on the publisher id change. I have been getting lots of email about this problems so I just wanted to state this here.

  1. I am sorry for changing the publisher id suddenly and making the transition take so long. I was not aware changing the publisher id would be this hard and take this much work.

  2. I am glad to help with any bug and issues, their things that are out of my control. All I can do is edit things in my code, “push” out updates in the corona store bitbucket, and make adjustments on the marketplace. I don’t host the plugins on my server and I cannot fix the marketplace server. If you are having problems “downloading”( as in you get a screen that says it does not exist or you don’t own it) this is a corona bug. I am happy to help where I can, but I all I do with this information is sent this information to corona labs.

short version

please email corona support( support@coronalabs.com ) if you are still having problems with publisher id

Thanks Scott.

I unfortunately even after changing the publisherId to “tech.scotth” am still experiencing issues with the marketplace not recognizing me as subscribed to the Taptic Engine or ReplayKit plugins, even though I’ve subscribed to both.

Anyone at Corona - how long will this take to be resolved?  I’ve purchased this ReplayKit plugin and need to use it for a big update to my game, but now don’t have access to it…

Just an FYI you may be running an older version of the plugin if you don’t change publisher id. As of right now I know of no plugins that are still having publisher id issues
