Chartboost plugin is not working with iPhone5S with iOS 9?

Today I upgraded my iPhone 5s to iOS 9, and I use exactly the same code on following cases:

(1) iPhone 5S with iOS 9

(2) iPad mini with iOS 8.4.1

(3) iPad mini upgraded to iOS 9

case (2) & case (3) works - Chartboost interstitial ads show up without problem

case (1) fails with following callback info:

App[409] \<Warning\>: [INFO] mAd -\> chartBoostListener -\> k/v = type interstitial App[409] \<Warning\>: [INFO] mAd -\> chartBoostListener -\> k/v = name chartboost App[409] \<Warning\>: [INFO] mAd -\> chartBoostListener -\> k/v = phase failed App[409] \<Warning\>: [INFO] mAd -\> chartBoostListener -\> k/v = info Error 0: Unknown internal error App[409] \<Warning\>: [INFO] mAd -\> chartBoostListener -\> k/v = location Default App[409] \<Warning\>: [INFO] mAd -\> chartBoostListener -\> k/v = response failed

Anyone is still supporting Chartboost plugin?

Anyone can help?

nobody cares about Chartboost anymore?

I don’t think Chartboost is supported any longer. If you look at the list of plugins for ads. You have Vungle, iAds and Admob left. I would suggest you try to get into FusePowered beta or use Vungle for now.

Chartboost is performing pretty good for me. It’s a really bad to know.

Chartboost is performing better for me than AdMob or AdBuddiz and has been for months.

I have contacted Chartboost and asked if they will support the plugin going forward. I hope users of Chartboost and Corona will do the same as it can only increase the chances of support.

Thanks!

My last app uses both Chartboost and Vungle. My experiment is that Vungle performs a bit better than Chartboost when the advertiser pays by CPI. In theory (static vs video), it should be this way.

However, sometimes I get a lot of revenues from Chartboost when some big advertiser pays by CPC. Besides, you need to show some static ad sometimes. You can’t always show video ad. Having both Chartboost and Vungle will maximize the revenue.

If Chartboost is not supported, it’s really a bad news for Corona developers.

It is bad news. Here is the Chartboost response I received today (quoted with permission from Chartboost).

They do support Swift. I don’t need cross-platform. I need Chartboost. Swift it is! :slight_smile:

Thank you for reaching out, I hope you are doing well.

At this time, Chartboost does not have support for any Corona plugin. It was previously developed and maintained by a third party. It is looking like we might not be supporting this for a while.

I understand that this is not ideal for Corona developers who want to use Chartboost and apologize for the inconvenience.

As such, I would encourage you to reach out to the developer directly or the Corona community as we do not have the expertise to resolve this issue.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.

Re: iPhone 5S with iOS 9.

Is that still broke? I’m hoping is was a temporary Chartboost server side glitch. My iPad Mini 4 with latest iOS works fine.

@hogletpie

The problem with iPhone 5S + iOS 9 has gone away for no reason after a few days I posted the question here. I guess it was a server side problem.

So it is working fine now.

But without supporting, we can’t use up-to-day SDK from Chartboost.

@joe528

Glad to hear about the 5s situation.

Based on this I am hopeful that for the lifetime of iOS 9 my Chartboost ads will still function fine:

Still, Chartboost + Corona will decay at some point.

Frankly, I am deeply concerned at the lack of revenue for Corona Labs and the delay of AdRally full roll-out. No one one these forums appears to be discussing the elephant in the room: namely how can Corona survive over time given its current apparent lack of revenue.

No wonder Ingemar left the community. Corona’s future appears uncertain. Chartboost is a must. Swift imminent for me!

Now CoronaSDK Pro is free, so they mostly now rely on AdRally to make money. They don’t care or even don’t like you use other ad providers.

And you are right. I have started to learn Swift. I don’t care cross-platform anymore. If you can’t make a good app that makes money, it doesn’t matter how many platforms the app supports.
