Coronium Cloud Platform

Tonight I ported over an app I had written last year using mySQL bridging via hand-coded php / json file download & import method. Originally it had taken me about a week to get the 5 table database integration complete using the method outlined above. The anguish of writing the php code properly to run the right sql statement and to weed through the JSON errors etc was not fun at all…

Tonight it took me approximately 2 hours to port the whole database integration process over to Coronium and most of that time was spent finding the right parts of my old code to cut …

Way to go Coronium, way to go @develephant!!! Thank you very much for saving us so much time and making difficult easy!

I struggle since days to implement my server side functionality for my App with cloudcontrol (german heroku-like paas) with slow progress, and now I found this. That is amazing, especially for me as I am totally new on the server stuff. I think this will make my life a lot easier.

Thanks a lot for your work and support!

By the way, the geek hangout was very informative…

After two days looking deeper into coronium I’m really stoked. Exactly what I needed. I have just a little suggestion. I know coronium is still in Beta, but I would very appreciate a little more informations on the wiki. The user management for example or the data objects are difficult to look trough without a introduction and further explanation what happens in the background and what the single functions do exactly.

Anyway, this is such a nice thing. Thanks again for making this.

Amazing work.  Last night I was able to get an Amazon server and load up a fresh Coronium in 20 minutes.  I was also able to get basic User login, signup, and session functionality working so I can work towards my multiplayer game.  And I’m sure it will come easily as I will be able to have server-side LUA code that can be run from the client and modify data objects and SQL data.

Thank you for making it so easy.  Can’t wait for more updates and the possibility of a LUA-based real time turn based multiplayer server.

@eric.meuse - Thanks for the kind words.  Join us in the Google group and feel free to ask any questions you need.  Good luck on your game!

@sunmils - Appreciate the feedback.  I do need to add another layer to the documentation.  Not sure if you saw it, but lots of helpful videos here http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlWSohAGdLDsvehk81CnIuh-XTXmQDKHj

Thanks for using Coronium!

Cheers,

Chris

Hi,

I have trouble with print statements, they are not visible in the log. Is that a known issue? I have 1.85.

Second question: How can I exit the execution of a lua file, return doesn’t work?

Thanks!

Hi sunmils,

You would use…

coronium.log( str )

You can then view the output in the logs/cloud admin section.

http://docs.coronium.io/utilities/

Hope that helps.

Ups, sorry I saw on the old wiki that print should work too. Thanks for clarify.

And how can I break the execution of a lua file? return doesn’t work.

Hi sunmils,

Yes, you are correct, you could use it at one time. Anyway, please post the breaking execution question in the goggle group, the answer is a little complicated.

Question is posted.

This couldn’t be more true. @Develephant 's progress and responsiveness is truly incredible. What’s more, I only started to learn LUA (much less any other language) for just three months now and Coronium is super easy to work with, and the video tutorials and documentation are very easy to follow. It’s amazing to look at the dates on this thread and see how much new stuff keeps getting pumped in.

Keep up the awesome work!

Cheers,

Jeremiah
