My second app that is live using Coronium served about 2500 festival goers last weekend over in Minneapolis/St.Paul who attended the Twin Cities Pride Festival & Parade. Coronium was rock solid throughout the weekend and served my app’s needs remarkably well even when usage peaked at 1000+ users a day. Still humble numbers perhaps for some other apps / games but for me this was a nice milestone to reach and enjoy!

Thank you Coronium, thank you Develephant once again.

Oh, did I mention it only took me less than 2 hours to retrofit this app to use Coronium? Its prior direct php cals, JSON downloads etc method of data access had taken me at least 2 weeks to get right last year…

Hi Chris, thanks for your kind words. Sharing my results is the least I can do to help spread the word on this amazing toolkit you have given us. We are in much debt! Thank you so much.

Hi,

Quick question. We want to test drive Coronium as we read this before installing :

You can use either an Amazon EC2 micro-instance (free for 12 months) or the CentOS 6.5 64bit installer, which also has build instructions for a DigitalOcean droplet. DigitalOcean is the recommended provider for the Coronium Cloud Platform.

You seems to recommend DigitalOcean over Amazon EC2. Our company is using many Amazon services and we would like to use EC2. Is there anything we should know that Amazon would not be as good as DigitalOcean ? Do you plan to support both of them in the long term ?

thanks for your help.

Hi nmichaud,

In the case of a EC2 micro-instance, you’ll get more consistent performance from a DigitalOcean droplet.  Beyond that, there really isn’t any major difference.  If you’re comfortable with EC2, then feel free to use that.  Amazon EC2 and DO will both be supported for the foreseeable future.

Hope that helps.  Thanks for giving Coronium a try.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the information.

Ciao

Nick

I struggle since days to implement my server side functionality for my App with cloudcontrol (german heroku-like paas) with slow progress, and now I found this. That is amazing, especially for me as I am totally new on the server stuff. I think this will make my life a lot easier.

Thanks a lot for your work and support!

By the way, the geek hangout was very informative…

After two days looking deeper into coronium I’m really stoked. Exactly what I needed. I have just a little suggestion. I know coronium is still in Beta, but I would very appreciate a little more informations on the wiki. The user management for example or the data objects are difficult to look trough without a introduction and further explanation what happens in the background and what the single functions do exactly.

Anyway, this is such a nice thing. Thanks again for making this.

Amazing work.  Last night I was able to get an Amazon server and load up a fresh Coronium in 20 minutes.  I was also able to get basic User login, signup, and session functionality working so I can work towards my multiplayer game.  And I’m sure it will come easily as I will be able to have server-side LUA code that can be run from the client and modify data objects and SQL data.

Thank you for making it so easy.  Can’t wait for more updates and the possibility of a LUA-based real time turn based multiplayer server.

@eric.meuse - Thanks for the kind words.  Join us in the Google group and feel free to ask any questions you need.  Good luck on your game!

@sunmils - Appreciate the feedback.  I do need to add another layer to the documentation.  Not sure if you saw it, but lots of helpful videos here http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlWSohAGdLDsvehk81CnIuh-XTXmQDKHj

Thanks for using Coronium!

Cheers,

Chris
