I would guess (and hope) that opening it up to a larger developer audience can only mean the ability to develop on Windows, or Linux at the very least. Look at the OS numbers - in the next few years there will be an increasing amount of people only interested in targeting Android, or primarily interested in that. iPhone is not the only show in town anymore. And why would you pick Corona if you fell into that category but still had to invest in Mac hardware that you might not already have ? And what happens if Win Mobile 7 takes off ?

@Alan: I hope so. I’m starting to get sick of my dual OS environment with Win7 for coding/graphics and OSX for the simulator. Even with using synergy to share mouse/keyboard between machines, 3 monitors is giving me a headache.

I can understand that building and deploying for iPhone on a Win machine is a definite no. But I’d be happy to settle for just the Corona simulator for day to day work on PC, and then turn on the Mac once in a while for on device testing.

OK here is what I can tell you…The bits we sent out last week to our dev partners is now in lockdown mode… which means…drum roll… horns blowing… confetti… we are a few days away… And on top of that, I can tell you that we have got daily builds working so in the next few days, you will have access to the latest and greatest without having to hear from our ‘dev partners’… as you will get them bits as early and often as we put a daily drop.

@ksan: Daily drop = New build version with sweet new features or fixes as soon as they’re ready. That means we get the latest and greatest version incrementally as opposed to waiting weeks/months for a new build.

So, the Corona SDK on Windows was one big announcement. (Which is awesome BTW! thank you!). However, the blog on the 17th of December mentioned two announcements coming in January. So is the change in the price of the SDK the other big announcement? or is there yet another announcement coming this month? Just wanting some clarification.
