Facebook V4 Share Image Dialog

I know at the moment Corona only supports link sharing via facebook.showDialog - but I really need to share images for my game.

As we’ll be forced to move over to Facebook v4 come October 30th 2016, I was wondering if there are imminent plans to support image sharing through facebook.showDialog (this would save me a huge headache taking screenshots of every single level and uploading them to a server so I can share them as a link).

If so, when will this feature be available?

Thanks!

Hi edmoyse,

The Facebook-v4 (now known as simply “Facebook”) plugin is now out of beta:

And with that, we’ve added support for sharing photos via facebook.showDialog(“photo”).

Currently this is limited to sharing photos to a user’s photo album that are already hosted on a server, so that doesn’t quite resolve your concern.

Allowing local photos to be shared to Facebook in this way is in the queue, but there are some complexities on the Android side of the plugin and how it interacts with the core Corona engine which make this feature request a little more difficult to address.

Consult the new Facebook Versioning/Upgrade guide for more info:
