Game Center - GameON !

What is the minimum set of features you want from a version 1.0 implementation of GameCenter in Corona?
Carlos
PS: One thing we will not add in the first version is multi-player.
PSS: Don’t ask when it will be out. I am collecting your feedback. Then I will tell you. The quicker you give me your MVF, the quicker we will get this out the door

So OpenFeint is dead in corona, or? [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 24945[/import]

Mike. No. Not dead… Any features? [import]uid: 24 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 24948[/import]

In case people just “want want want” and not know what it is they want…

Basically, Game Center provides iOS users to invite other users to play a game they’re currently enjoying (read: more sales for developers), do multiplayer games, track achievements, and compare scores on a leaderboard. One of the big side effects of having a Game Center-enabled iOS game is being listed or premiered on the App Store and with a nice GC icon on your product page.

First and foremost, besides being marked on the App Store, I would want the ability to invite other Game Center friends, for obvious reasons. Then the leaderboards and achievements, then multiplayer. But, basically in that order.

Is there anything else to Game Center besides those core features? [import]uid: 6084 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 24956[/import]

I’ll echo BtT’s suggestion …

  1. Invite other Game Center friends
  2. Leaderboards
  3. Achievements
  4. Multiplayer

  1. Invite other Game Center friends
  2. Leaderboards
  3. Achievements [import]uid: 9840 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 24961[/import]

At a minimum we need everything OpenFeint already provides, which is everything in GameCenter other than the feature you already said definitely isn’t going to be in the first version. [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 24968[/import]

  1. Multiplayer
  2. Leaderboards
  3. Invite other Game Center friends
  4. Achievements

  1. Multiplayer
  2. Leaderboards
  3. Achievements
  4. Invite other Game Center friends
    [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25049[/import]
  1. Leaderboards!
  2. Achievements!
  3. Multiplayer!

Top 3 in that order! [import]uid: 9968 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25054[/import]

I would go for:

Leaderboards and Achievements on the same prio level. Since both are used extensively.

Multiplayer in a second phase.

Leaderboards and Achievements. [import]uid: 10990 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25084[/import]

  1. Leaderboards
  2. Achievements
  3. Invite other Game Center friends [import]uid: 13859 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25118[/import]
  1. I want achievements most of all.
  2. I would like leaderboards.
  3. Multiplayer last (but I don’t have any plans to implement multiplayer anytime soon). [import]uid: 41111 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25120[/import]

Does game center support peer to peer over bluetooth and/or wifi? I would like to be able to do a ‘local’ multiplayer game, not one via server. [import]uid: 7334 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25254[/import]

good job [import]uid: 12088 topic_id: 7099 reply_id: 25270[/import]
