Ico Files

I can’t seem to get my Icon-win32.ico file to appear after I build for windows, Only the Default icon. I’ve tried a bunch of things like different sizes following the instructions from the Corona Page. Read up in the Forums found some info but it didn’t help.  I still can’t get it to work.

Any Ideas? Thanks.

Perhaps Windows Explorer is hiding file extension on you and your file is really named “Icon-win32.ico.ico”?

I ask because Windows hides file extensions for known file types by default.  You may want to double check this.

Thanks for the Response Joshua. I checked the file and it’s correct. No double ICO. Hmmmm? I’m perplexed.

Maybe there is something wrong with the icon file then.  Like your icon editor is doing something non-standard with it.

Try grabbing a pre-made *.ico file somewhere else and give it a go… for testing purposes.

Thanks I will try that Joshua and get back to you.

Can you also send me your icon file please?

Just click “Report a Bug” at the top of this page, reference this forum thread and my name “Joshua Quick”, and attach your *.ico file.  I can give it a quick go on my end.

Thanks Joshua, I have sent that Ico file your way.

Any Luck with the Ico file Joshua?

I was unable to find your bug report.

Can you post the bug # here please?  Thanks.

Not sure where to find the number. I labeled it ‘Ico Files Joushua Quick’ like you said. Thanks.

You should have gotten an email confirmation from the bug submission. In the subject of that email is a 5 digit case ID number. That’s what we need.

Rob

I never got one unless it went to spam so I’ll fill it out again. Thanks Rob.

OK I Have re-submitted the bug. Waiting on E-mail.

It doesn’t seem to be sending me my bug report email.

Can you provide a screen shot of what you see after you hit the submit button?

Ok Rob here’s the screen shot. coronaico%20bug.png

Are you logged in with the same email address as you are the forums?

Yep. Same Email.

Try e-mailing us instead at:  support@coronalabs.com

Also, I’m pretty sure there must be something wrong with your *.ico file.  Perhaps the icon editor you are using is doing something non-standard with it.  Try a different icon editor.  What I’m getting at is don’t wait for us.  Everyone else has managed to add their icons to their Win32 apps so far.  ;)
