Hi y’all,
I’m Raul and I’m the developer behind ‘rdcube’ coldfusion web applications and launching iphone/ipad games under ‘pick up and play games’.

I’m always learning something and all this mobile platform is very exciting to me…my goal is to make quick pick me up games that are simple and fun for all to play…I suck at design, but I’m working on that.

I’m thirty-something and I live in Texas.

Hi everyone,

I’m Clark with Comp Evolve. I own a local computer (and iphone/ipod) repair company in Michigan. I’m 23 and am a senior at Western Michigan University studying Computer Information Systems.

Over the past couple years I have started to focus more on web development and design, I started using Corona about 2 months ago and fell in love with it almost immediately.

I am nearing completion of my first game, Dino Dodger, that I hope to release by the end of February.

My twitter account is @compevolve though I must admit I haven’t used it much, but am trying to start using it more.

There are a lot of great people on these forums and I look forward to getting to know some of you better.

Hi all,

I’m David Fox, and I’ve been involved with computers and games since the late 70s. I was a game designer/project leader/programmer at Lucasfilm Games (now LucasArts) for 10 years, joining the company when it first started in 1982.

I work with my wife, Annie, who is an author, educator and also a game designer.

We’re working on our first 3 apps right now, all in the interactive story realm for kids. You can find out more about our work and our upcoming apps at our website, ElectricEggplant.com, and our new Facebook page, facebook.com/Electric.Eggplant.

I started coding with Corona last October (after tearing my hair out with a week of Objective-C coding) and am loving it.

Follow me on Twitter - @DavidBFox and our company at @ElectrcEggplant. Annie is at @Annie_Fox.

This is a great community, so eager to help out each other, and I love being a part of it!

Hello there all.

I am Peter Bailey (hard to tell from my user name!).

Subscribed to Corona last month after finding it in a google for cross platform development tools for mobile apps. Very happy I did - what a great tool. I also appreciate the community here, and the add on devs are doing a great job.

Have been programming and game playing since the early 80’s, but this is my first attempt at game development on a serious level. Have many years of assembler (communication switches OS software), C, C++, Python, Ruby, and PHP. Paid the bills, but I was getting bored with that. Game development is much more exciting.

So, am just getting a startup off the ground - www.wickedwagon.com

I will be joined there shortly by two others, a wicked artist  , and a designer/admin/support person.

Twitter - www.twitter.com/peterbailey

Looking forward to good conversations here!

Cheers

I’ve been doing digital art and game development for a long time, here’s my website:

I started Tofrutti Software and now I’m almost done with my first project in Corona, porting Memory Stacks to iPhone:

My name is Raphael Salgado, aka BeyondtheTech. I’ve been developing computer software as a side hobby since I was 13. From the TRS-80 Model III to the IBM PC AT back in the 80’s to becoming a Mac switcher in 2007 and beginning iOS development a year later.

After struggling with Objective-C, then wading with iTorque 2D and GameSalad, I have comfortably settled in on feature-packed Corona SDK and the powerful Lua language.

I have a few apps on the App Store, such as Archangel: Fate of the Galactic Commonwealth for iPhone (done in iTorque 2D) and Archangel: Vengeance of the Makuzi Ascendancy for the iPad (done in GameSalad).

I’m a full-time desktop support tech in NYC, but hope to leave it behind with a few decent iOS (and possibly Android) titles.

When I’m not teching around, I’ve got a wife and three kids that keep me on my toes.

Hi everyone,

My name is Marc Wakefield; 28 (29 on the 13th of Feb), recently married and expecting our first child in May…

I am the head honcho (for all intents and purposes) of mrm design a multi disciplined design company based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire in the UK.

We concentrate mainly on web design and development but we also work on graphic design, illustration and 3D and have recently completed quite a few print projects.
Ross Wakefield (my brother and business partner) is a trained Interior Architect so he also contracts his services out to Interior Design firms and furniture design company’s. (He is also expecting his first child in May. No it wasn’t planned and it wasn’t a bet either, just a happy coincidence)

Anyway, we love our iPhones, we design most of our websites with them in mind (flash is used very sparingly, if at all most of the time)and we also love games so we thought it would be awesome to use our design and technical skills to make apps.

After trying a few other options and getting annoyed with forced splash screens and limitations we decided Corona was definitely the right tool for us.

Our first 2 apps our in development and will hopefully be released very soon…

Greetings everyone,

I’m Dan Tyson, king of Digitapp… err I mean Director. I’m an IT systems analyst at a university during the day job, a flea market hunter on the weekends, and a massive nerd in my free time.

I started my company because I’ve always found myself bringing gaming related concepts and designs into most everything I’ve done. In college, I somehow managed to pull a trick for elective credit on everyone by publishing a research paper to the World Congress of Computer Science about an arcade machine I built that gave you credit to play a game for buying a honey-bun. Sure, it had a database and all kinds of technical merit behind it, but I assure you it was really all about the honey-buns. ( If you want to see this crazy thing, its here: http://tysonwork.com/SA.FECS08Final.pdf )

I’m lucky to have two very dedicated and hard working friends that are also part of the “band”, Eric and Jess. They both share the same goal that I have, focusing on fun concepts that we would enjoy ourselves, any commercial success being secondary to that.

I compose sounds and music as my secondary job for Digitapp, some of which you can find in our first game’s soundtrack. I’m putting together some packages of free stuff, so check the twitter tubes for updates on that if you are interested.

I really *really* love where Corona is going, including the tools and community that is rapidly building around it. It’s a great sign of a very strong tool. I think there is room for all of us smaller guys in the mobile game space and its great that there are so many people sharing information and helping each other make better games.

Wow, this subscriber area must be new.

I’m Dan. I’ve been programming since I was 13 and programming on my Vic 20 with 5 whole kilobytes of ram to play with. Things have changed.

Hi, I’m Niels from Belgium, thirty-something. Together with 2 friends, I’m making educational iPad apps for 3-7 year olds in our spare time. We all have kids in that age range, I have 3 myself. We have one app released right now, called Kidimedia.

I’m a long time C++ engineer, but I’m also fluent in Ruby, Python, Java, Tcl, Javascript, etc.

Absolutely love Corona, it’s one of the most fun and productive environments I’ve ever worked with! My major gripe with it, is the closed nature of it: doesn’t support the full SDK APIs, cannot integrate with ObjC libraries, … that’s driving me nuts. I don’t care if it’s hard, or not portable to Android or whatever. Just don’t lock me in! I’m seriously considering switching to Cocos2D+Wax, just for this reason… [import]uid: 6795 topic_id: 5909 reply_id: 20605[/import]

Greetings all!

Brent Sorrentino, 35 years old, operating my company “Ignis Design”. I’m based (occasionally) in Colorado, USA, but I’m a travel addict and I typically journey off for months at a time to Asia, Europe, or South America. Australia is next; I depart in 10 days!

The digital-connected world has made this all possible, since I’m definitely not sitting on a pile of cash to fund my travels. My “bread and butter” job (from whatever corner of the planet) is a contractor for IXL.com and Quia Books, for which I design online foreign language books, most commonly Spanish but occasionally French, German, Italian, or Chinese.

I am trained as a graphic designer, but I shifted into web design during the Internet boom and learned Cold Fusion primarily. My hobby, aside from programming mobile apps, is large-format photography (travel, landscapes and nature). My website thus reflects my photography, not my mobile apps… eventually I intend to get a secondary domain name for app development.

We’re a tiny game company currently focusing on iOS games.
And we’re in the south bay, probably pretty close to Ansca Mobile

Our website: http://www.yobonja.com/
Our latest game, Blast Monkeys: http://bit.ly/BlastMonkeys

In my spare time I like to make web versions of our games designed to be played on the DSi browser, and study languages. [import]uid: 12822 topic_id: 5909 reply_id: 20630[/import]

Howdy everyone!

I’m Leigh - a 39 year old male from the UK. I’ve been coding since I was 12 years old (in the days of the ZX-81). I co-own a web development company (http://www.web.coop), and I spend most of my working day coding ASP.Net sites/applications in C#.

I’ve yet to come up with that elusive first Corona project. I’m guess I’m not much of an ideas man these days… [import]uid: 5702 topic_id: 5909 reply_id: 20633[/import]
