iOS7 Testing

Test device: iPod Touch with iOS7

I’ve done some quick testing of some of my apps using Corona SDK build 2012.972, and 2013.1137.

I had the pre-compiled app bundles on my system, and just transferred them to the device without specifically compiling them for iOS7.

So far there are no Corona issues to report. Audio is working fine.

The only issue is that if you swipe near the bottom of the screen you can accidentally activate the Control Center. I’m planning report this to Apple as it should at least behave like the Notification Center.

I’ll update this thread if I find any issues.

I found the same - no issues with IOS7 at all…i’m surprised actually.

This is for apps built on a machine with XCode 4.x and not 5.x right? Thanks for sharing your findings.

@ksan

Yes, that’s correct. The apps were built with Xcode 4.x

Which version of xCode did you use to transfer? xCode 5?

@Juf Jannie

Yes, I used Xcode 5 to transfer the apps to my iOS7 device.

ok, thanks.

System is still downloading xcode 5.

Curious if corona can build apps with it.

Reading the notes for Xcode 5. ussually it says in big bold type that it can’t be used to build apps for the appstore. Might this actually work…

I suspect we need to wait for CoronaLabs to add iOS7 support before we can trust any Xcode 5 builds.

Just a word of warning:

After installing Xcode 5, the Xcode path will be changed to point to the Xcode 5 package.

If you intend to build any apps for release with Xcode 4.x, remember to change the path with xcode-select from the command-line.

trying a build now. It is painfully slow though.

What version of OSX are you using for Xcode 5 ?

When will we see Widgets V3, with the new flat UI (kinda of a joke, feel sorry for Corona Labs really) ?

Dave

I am using the latest version of OSX

I’m also using the latest version of OSX (10.8.4)

Not sure if it is my phone (iphone 4) or xcode 5 but copying a build to the device is slooooooooooooow.

For me, it doesn’t take any longer than before.

if i install xcode 5 there is a nice way to go back to 4 if corona have some problem?

It “installs” next to xcode 4 in a different folder.

so you will have both on your system.

Ingemar mentioned something though about needing to change something in terminal if you want to go back.

Ha! As I was watching the keynote yesterday morning I was thinking the exact same thing! :slight_smile: However, I think mostly it’s just a reskinning thing, so if we ever figure out how to make those theme files we might be okay. :slight_smile:
