Pollfish Corona Plugin is out - Introducing monetization with surveys in Corona world!

Hello

I am Andreas from  Pollfish  and I would like to introduce you to  a new way of monetizing mobile apps that pays up to 20x more  than classic ads.

Pollfish (http://www.pollfish.com) is a survey platform that delivers  surveys instead of ads  through mobile apps.  Integration of Pollfish SDK takes less than 2 minutes and requires only one line of code. No changes are needed in the UI of the app since everything is displayed as an overlay (see screenshots below), while users that respond to surveys, enter into draws and win prizes (happy users)!

Minimum revenue for each completed survey through an app is $0.30 and users never leave the app. If no survey is available, nothing is shown to the users, as if Pollfish was never integrated in the app.

Since Pollfish addresses the market research marketplace,  Pollfish surveys can be used along with any ad network you are already using in yourapp  without any problem, just to bring extra revenue!

You can see Pollfish promo video below:

Or download Pollfish Android demo app from Google Play, where you can see how a Pollfish survey is shown through a mobile app!

Note: Your pollfish.com link at the top points to a very long URL (click counter) that is dead.

You’re going to lose readers right there as some folks won’t take the time to type the link in manually or to copy & paste it…  You may want to edit the post and change it to https://www.pollfish.com/

PS - Aside from my note above, this is very exciting.  I will look into integrating this into a game I’m releasing today.  I’ll post back when I have more to say about the experience.

hey @roaminggamer thanks for the deads up! I edited and fixed the links in the post! If you need anything regarding Pollfish I will be happy to help!

@andreas58,

You’re welcome.  I didn’t want you to miss out on users.

Please note, I noticed after the fact that this requires using Enterprise.  This is not a big problem, but I’m not currently set up for Enterprise development, so I’m going to complete the release of my app without polls for now, then when I get my Mac set up for Enterprise again, I’ll release an update.

In the interim, I think there is an opportunity here to collaborate with a developer to get this plugin modified and released on the upcoming Corona store.

If you can find a developer that can modify this ‘enterprise’ plugin to be a ‘pro’ plugin, you’ll get a lot more traction.

While the possibility of higher earnings is VERY attractive, folks will be put off by having to dig into enterprise to enable it.

Please note: I am in no way trying to diminish this plugin.   It is a wonderful concept and I am looking forward to having the time to integrate it.

I’ll write again.  Till then, I’m going to e-mail a compatriot of mine who is a ‘enterprise’ expert to suggest he look into your plugin.

+1 to Ed’s point. I situation is pretty much identical to his, and I would have implemented the plugin yesterday, had there been a simple “pro” option. As Ed said, this isn’t a knock against the plugin, but you’d be able to serve 100x more Corona devs if it was a drop-in module.

Hello guys, thank you for your comments. Can anyone reference us to the relevant documentation on how to create plugins for the free version so we can work on it as soon as possible?

Well, Corona is accepting plugins for their upcoming store.  This article talks about it, and has links to examples:

https://coronalabs.com/blog/2015/04/01/open-source-plugins-and-coming-soon-corona-store/

The thing I don’t know about is how, one goes about converting a Enterprise plugin to a Pro or Free plugin.

i.e. Some plugins are hosted by Corona and you simply add a reference to build.settings and then require them.  The rest is done automatically.  In your case, you’ve got external code that needs to be inserted into the build.  The steps to automate this part are the mystery for me (not being a plugin developer.)

To submit a plugin so that Corona SDK Devs can use it too, check out the Corona Plugin Vendor FAQs:

Hello guys, thanks for the links provided and for your interest.

Unfortunately Corona does not provide a guide on how to build such a plugin, rather than just an example in github. We have developed the plugin based on code we have se studied around the web that was open sourced, however I do not think that at the moment that we can develop what is requested here, except if we find a proper guide to speed up the process. Corona guys should also consider that since it can add value on the platform I believe and offer more options to the marketplace. Otherwise we will have put that in backlog at the moment to be considered for future development.

I understand.  Like I said, when I get the time to re-setup my Mac and polish up my Enterprise skills again, I’ll integrate this in an app.

Thanks for producing it and bringing it to our community.

Meanwhile, if anyone beats me to the punch and tries this sooner, please post back here about your experience and findings.  I’m sure many want to know (besides me).

Cheers,

Ed

You might want to start here:

https://store.coronalabs.com/plugins

And click on the link  “Submit a plugin”.  This will go to the people who can help make plugins available for the general public as well as information on how to build them.

Rob

Hey @Rob, thanks. Just submitted!

Hey @Rob, we did not receive anything yet after the submission… Can you please check and revert?

The email goes to someone in the office.  I’m not sure what that queue is like at the moment.  I’ll see if I can find out more and the time frame on responding.

Rob

Hello everyone, i just got an email today after the submission of Pollfish plugin as Rob suggested:

The exception is that we will not allow plugins for ad network SDKs. Most ad network SDK/plugins will be provided via the Fuse Powered plugin.

I also emailed Fuse Powered for considering the release of Pollfish plugin but with no luck/response…

Having that said I would have to say that unfortunately anyone that would like to use Pollfish plugin is on his own since no further actions can be done from our side…

Give FusePowered some time to answer.

Hello @Rob, thank you for your message. I reached FusePowered one month ago, way before posting here the plugin, but with no luck/response unfortunately…

Hello @Rob, do you have any update?

You will need to check with your contact at FusePowered.  I don’t have any insight into their process of working with vendors.

Rob

Oh ok @Rob, I cannot get a response, so I assume the possibility of using Pollfish among Corona users is not possible…Anyway thank you for your time.
