Social Plugin twitter failed

I’m using the Social Plugin code almost exact from the sample. The Facebook works fine. Twitter however keeps giving me this: “Cannot Send Tweet” “The tweet … cannot be sent because the connection to Twitter failed.” I’m trying on iOS. Anybody else getting this problem? Anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

Okay, maybe this isn’t a Corona problem. I tried tweeting my abysmal score in Flappy Birds and I got the same error. Then I tried Jetpack Joyride and got same error. Anyone know if it’s just my iPhone 5 running the newest system?

Is Twitter enabled in your settings?

Apparently not? I didn’t specifically enable it. I didn’t see where to do that in the sample code.

Please forgive my ignorance but how do I enable Twitter and do I have to do anything special with Facebook? That seems to work fine.

Thanks Rob!

It’s not a Corona thing.  It’s an iOS thing.  Starting with iOS 5, Apple lets you send tweets from it’s sharing screens.  To use this you have to go into your device’s “Settings” app, scroll down to “Twitter”, open that option and there will be a list of known twitter accounts and a button to Add an Account.   This has to be setup before the social plugin will work.

Ah… thanks Rob. So I’m guessing the average user doesn’t have this set? It seems my password was not in there so maybe it’s just from me changing the password at some point.

Anyway, while I have your ear… is there anyway in Corona to have a Share button that pulls up all the options in one menu (i.e. Message, Mail, Twitter, Facebook) You can see what I’m referring to in the latest craze ‘Flappy Bird’ and some other games I THINK I remember seeing. That has the Share button I’m referring to. Flappy Bird is the top Free game on iOS if you somehow haven’t heard about it by now.

Thanks again!

You need to build that panel yourself.
