SSK2: Now On Marketplace!

@everyone,

Just a quick announcement …

I am happy to say that SSK 2 lite & SSK 2 Pro are now both available on the Corona Marketplace

I have been making a big noise about this recently:

However, if you do not know what SSK2 is, please read about it here:

https://roaminggamer.github.io/RGDocs/pages/SSK2/

“And keep my baubles too?”

(If you’ve ever read the ‘Reluctant Swordsman’ that quote may ring a bell, if not keep reading anyhow.)

I am about to announce this separately, but you should know, that with SSK 2 Pro, you can download and run the newly released (and FREE) ‘Roaming Gamer Particle Editor 2’.

Nice!!

Sale Extended (Slightly)

Hi folks.  I just wanted to let you know that I am extending the sale for SSK 2 through the weekend.  It will end on Monday January 9th.

Currently, SSK2 is available in two versions:

  • lite - The fundamental parts of SSK2.  This is stuff I couldn’t live without.  i.e If I absolutely had to trim down SSK2 this is as lite as it would get.
    • Sale price == $12
    • Normal prices $15.  (20% discount)
  • PRO - All features + Bonus Tools (see below)
    • Sale price $32
    • Normal price $50 (36% discount)

Upcoming Features (Friday or Earlier)

I’m working on the 2017.005 release of SSK 2 right now.  These are the release notes as of this very moment (a few more changes are needed before I release):

  • Both - Added forEach() method (extension)  to table.*
  • Both - Added forEachi() method (extension)   to table.*
  • Both - Added insertAt() method (extension) to containers and groups
  • Both - Added optional locked image option to buttons library (to support 2,3, or 4 state buttons as needed)
  • Both - Added optional toggled image option to buttons library (to support 2,3, or 4 state buttons as needed)
  • Both - Updated ‘ignoreList’ to allow it to gracefully handle ‘nil’ objects.
  • Both - Added ‘custom’ dialog tray factory to simplify dialog creation with custom artwork.
  • Both - Updated ssk.misc.getImageSize() to more nicely handle invalid path.
  • Both - Added First Version of Factory Manager
  • PRO ONLY - Added First Version of Tiled Loader
  • PRO ONLY - Added Easy Positioner Tool/Module

Bonus Tools & Code

Finally, if you haven’t noticed already.  The PRO version of SSK2 gives you the ability to run free content and tools here:

https://github.com/roaminggamer/RG_FreeStuff/tree/master/SSK2

The most interesting tools in this list are:

  • RG Particle Editor 2 - Let’s you visually edit particle emitter definitions for newEmitter() objects.
  • RG Button Editor (Releasing at same time as 2017.005 update) - This drag-n-drop tool lets you create preset packages for the RG Buttons library using custom artwork and settings.
  • _ Other _ - I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet, but I will be releasing one more tool at the same time as I make the 2017.005 update.

The rest… In addition to tools there is a bunch of sample game and other code that goes with SSK2 (lite and PRO) under these folders:

Nice job Ed, I had to go for the pro version as I figure I’ll need it one way or another. Hopefully the EAT tool (that I also purchased) will also support SSK2 and we’ll have an all around package

I’m following this thread, but is there a better way to keep up to date on what is being updated/added etc.

Graham,

I just sent out an email to EAT owners.  I believe you were on that list.  Please write back here if you don’t receive an email titled

’EAT & SSK2’

As far as update notes.

  1. From now on, starting with today’s release (2017.005), there will be a file called versionNotes.txt in the ssk2 folder.  That will show what was updated, fixed, added, etc.

  2. The docs page will always show the latest version number so if you’re running an older one it is easy to check.

  3. I will make update announcements in the forums each time I make a new release.

  4. Finally, each of the marketplaces I sell through has a different mechanism for release notes:

  • Here (Corona Marketplace) - The version notes are low down on the product page.
  • Sellfy - I send update emails with new download links.
  • Gumroad - I send updates notices using an update mechanism on the ‘edit product’ page.

If you cant think of any better ways to update folks I’m open to suggestions.  Meanwhile, happy developing and may you have a happy New Year (better late than never).
